CHAPTER 3

Glykeria is riding her flying car but she keeps on thinking of Basil. She couldn’t take him away out of her mind. Basil is really attractive no wonder why Glykeria would really like him. Glykeria step out of her car as she landed. She could see her parents outside because their house is made of glass. Her parents own the industry of processing mineral and metal alloys. These things are the most needed across their planet. Her parent’s names are Calaintha and Dabney. She landed in the parking lot then someone whispering her name.

Glykeria? Pssstt.Basil is whispering. A whisper but she could hear her name calling by a stranger. She is frightening she looks around but nobody is there but still the voice is calling her name again.

Glykeria? Basil said. She looks upward she could see Basil. Oh my goodness gracious! What are you doing there? Are you spying on me? I would call a guard. Glykeria said.

Please Glykeria just hear me out first. Please calm down. Don’t Panic. I wouldn’t bite you. Basil said.

You scare me. Don’t you know that? Getdown here and let’s talk.

I swear I wouldn’t do anything that can harm towards you. Okay I’m going down now. He is using his wings. Basil said.

Nice wings. Where did you get that? Glykeria asked.

From my father this is one of his inventions. I saw this one at his building he didn’t use it so I tried.

How did you know how to use this one?

I read the instructions it was written in his controller manual. Do you want to see it? Just look.

Glykeria read the instructions. Oh great incredible invention. Anyway, why are you here? What do you want to talk about? You seem stalking me huh.

I just want to know where you live so that I can visit you sometimes.

Visit me? Wait, are you courting me? I’m not ready to commit. I have priorities especially my studies need to finish it. I am focusing to my invention also. Are you not aware of that? We’re going to fail if we cannot make one. We cannot pass the next 4th last level which is the most important because it will be the last grade level. Glykeria explained.

Yes I’m aware of that I’m sorry for disturbing you I just want to be your friend.

I already have trusted friends and I don’t want to add anymore besides we just met earlier. Glykeria said.

That’s why I want to get to know you better. Don’t worry just for friendship. Basil handed his right hand to shake hands and Glykeria grab it too.

Why? Are you spying on me again? Glykeria asked.

No it’s not that there’s something I just want to show. This may help us to our future inventions. I’m sure you would love it and you can get ideas on how my parents create it. Does it sound interesting to you?

As much as I want to know about it but I have my parents that will help me to do that. Thanks for the offer If I give you my number it doesn’t mean that I like you. Glykeria raises her right eyebrow but in her mind she really likes him. She just doesn’t want to appear desperate.

Basil flies away he is using his wings. Glykeria see him flying and she walks toward their house. Open the door. Glykeria said. The door open automatically the house is made of metals, glass and alloys. Some parts are made of stone and wood. The wood is durable not easy to break but they have an equipment that can form it in shape that you want. As she enters inside of their house she could see her parents watching TV.

Good evening Mother and Father. She kisses her parents.

What took you so long? Why are you late? Calaintha asked.

I stay longer outside if you didn’t notice I’ve talked to my classmate. Glykeia said.

How’s your school dear? You look tired? What did you do in your school? Dabney asked.

Everything in school is fine we are starting to gather information on inventing. I am not tired just pre occupied.

That would be the most exciting I can’t wait to see you creating a brand new technology make sure it’s useful in the environment. You already know the rules we shouldn’t over use the things in our surroundings. Dabney said. His father look at her while talking.

We should eat together now the dinner is ready. Do you want to change your clothes Glykeria? Calaintha said.

No mother later after the dinner. Glykeria said.

Okay sweetie let’s eat our meal now. Calaintha said.

Glykeria and her parents walk towards the dining area. They eat silently after they are finish eating Glykeria is asking about the ideas of inventing technology. Since her parents had been through also in that school.

Mother, I am confuse can you give me ideas on what to create?

You may ask your father his ways are better than mine. Calaintha said.

Okay mother I will. Glykeria said. His father is sitting in front of their TV.

Hey father! May I disturb you for a while?

What is it Glykeria? Dabney asked.

About my invention I’m still thinking what to create. Can you give me ideas?

Yes Glykeria I’ll share to you the time when I was started to create my own and how I did it successfully. Anyway, how are you and your friends especially Princess Athenusa the next ruler of our planet? Dabney asked.

Her mother heard what they are talking she interrupts their conversation. Yes before I forgot do you want us to share about the parents of Athenusa? Calaintha asked.

Yes mother I would love to.

That’s a lot of story to tell. Dabney said.

Your father knows about them he is willing to share it with you. Calaintha said.

Before anything else I would give you ideas on how to create technology successfully. When I was at your age I was wishing I would belong in the classroom of King Aspen you know why because their master was the greatest master in the school but the sad thing the classroom was limited. The section was the first class though I felt sad it doesn’t stop me not to continue my journey. I was at the other section but the news about the journey of King Aspen was open to all. He was always star of the town because he was the son of the king and queen. We monitor his life but in the school wherein your school right now there was no special treatment. It was unavoidable that you wouldn’t really pay attention on what he was doing. Dabney explained and look straight to his daughter while they are sitting outside of their house. You could smell the fresh air because of the view of their trees and flowers are beautiful.

Wait father I am expecting that you would teach me about inventing technology. Glykeria said.

Oh Yes his father is laughing I am just excited sharing their stories. Anyhow, the time that I was started to invent I had the master his name is Master Fabienne I belong in his class. I could still remember what he told us that I couldn’t forget. He said I knew some of you here wanted to be part of the section of Master Pavo I admit that I wasn’t great like him I may not be the greatest but each of us has its own talentsand our differences made us unique as an individual. Just do your best to focus in your invention. In your invention it could make you into something that you never expected in your entire life. This wasn’t about me anymore I was here to guide you at the right path and you could assume I was the best master you ever had. I could be your inspiration as well. Strive harder for you to be able to won the competition. It doesn’t matter who was your master. Most importantly you succeeded in your inventions. Master Fabienne inspired us and we learned a lot from him until now I bring everywhere I go what he just told us. Those lectures inspire me and I’m expecting it would help you to do your best that you can in your invention. It’s not easy at first try but eventually you will handle the pressure. Dabney explained.

I like the sensible perspective of your master Pop. He delivers his message clearly. Where’s your invention now pop? Would you show it to me your first invention? Glykeria asked.

Yes I would show it to you come let’s go to our garage. As they walk straight towards the garage his garage is big enough to build anything. Open the door. Dabney said. The door open automatically and the door would recognize the voice of the owner. It won’t open if the door didn’t recognize your voice.

Okay pop! Are you allowing me to use your garage for my inventions?

Of course you could use this I would give this to you because you’re my daughter everything we have is all yours. Who else do you think would use this? Come this way Dabney said.

Glykeria is shock of what she sees a lot of advance technology inside the garage. There are technologies and old equipment that have not yet been finish. She looks around the garage there are robots also but not yet activated.

This is my first invention the talking calculator. You could talk to him and ask anything about numbers. Our kinds are using it today and improvise by some.

Oh wow Cool! This is really nice. Let me try to ask pop.

Glykeria is asking anything in the talking calculator she is satisfied of the outcome. This thing is really cool pop. You are truly amazing. Did you know because of the calculator I won in our section but in the last year I was on the 3rd. Shiva nailed it next was King Aspen.

Who is Shiva? Glykeria asked.

Shiva is the best friend of King Aspen.

Oh wow! Why not King Aspen?

I know their story. Do you want me to talk about it or you can ask your friend Athenusa?

I prefer to hear it from you pop. It doesn’t sound good if I ask Athenusa about it. She might think I am talking behind her back including her family.

Oh you don’t have to think about it Princess Athenusa has a good attitude. Their family is a good example of leaders. King Aspen and Shiva are really close to each other. They have been through a lot even their friendship had been tested. They don’t keep secrets to each other until the time came they fought because of Queen Beringaria. Shiva strive harder to his inventions he thought that it might be the way Queen Beringaria would love him back just as much on how he loved her. Though he won the competition game in our school but he was wrong that doesn’t change the decision of Queen Beringaria. She really loved even better King Aspen. I thought it could cause disaster. At the end of the day their friendship remains stronger. They forgave each other and accepted the situation.

Oh really! What a touching story? How about you pop the love story between you and mom? Glykeria asked.

Well having your mother is the greatest moment that I ever had. Before we weren’t classmate she was in another class but same grade. She wasthe best inventor in her class. She competed with us I saw her when she performed her invention she invented the automatic fire alarm. It could easily detect smoke or fire and it was made of metal gold the shape of the body is circle. I looked at her she was so lovely I knew from myself she will be my future wife. She is generous, fearless and invincible. I courted her I waited the time when she decided to be her partner. After of getting to know each other we decided to settle down and your grandparents like her so much as well as her family likes me too. I could say it was perfect moment between us. Then we are so lucky to have you. You make our lives completely happy. Dabney said.

Glykeria is thinking and then she asks. By the way pop, what is your invention that made you in the 3rd runner up?

I am the one who invented this machine that can detect the voice of the owner and it will automatically open the gate. I would just record your voice so that this thing may recognize you. This machine can recognize if there are outsiders entering our property. I know my stuff would really help you to build your own invention. You have everything you need in here that’s why I’m giving you the permission to use. Always put in your mind that you can achieve. Never get frustrated if you fail at first try because it’s normal. I don’t want to pressure you to win the competition. The most important thing for me is that you can shape your invention that you want. Your mother and I got your back we are proud of you and hey you can ask ideas to your mother. She’s incredibly got a lot of ideas.

Don’t worry pop I’m about to ask her too. Thanks for everything I gain knowledge from you. I put in my mind everything what you’ve told me.

I am happy that you belong to Master Noman because he got the skills and talents from his parents. I adore before his father but our master did his job well. He doesn’t want us to felt that we are losers. Thanks for the memories that he brought to us before.

Okay pop I would save it to my brain. Glykeria replied. They walk out through the exit door.

Close the door the door close automatically. Dabney said.

They walk towards the chair wherein Calaintha is waiting for them. Dabney sits beside her and Glykeria sits in front of them.

Hey Mom! I am just done having a conversation with pop. I learned so many things from him. He shows me with his inventions. Glykeria said.

I got to pee first then I’ll be back. You both should talk resourceful information about technology. Dabney said.

Glykeria and her mother look at to Dabney when he left them.

Did your father told you about my invention? Calaintha asked.

Yes Mom! But I want to hear out from you.

I put my inventions and my things in the garage of your father since the time I got married. Do you want to go back again in the garage? Are you not tired? It’s already late you still have class tomorrow.

It’s okay Mom! I’m not yet sleepy. I’m very interested to know the details on how you make it.

They go back again to the garage. As they enter her mother find her inventions directly. Then she shows it to Glykeria this is my first invention the automatic fire alarm it automatically can detect if there is smoke or even a small fire. We are using this one today. Calaintha said.

Oh wow Mom! You seem cool like pop. You guys really meant to be and your invention is useful. What is your invention in the last grade?

I’m the one who invented the scanner machine.

What’s the use of the scanner machine?

It automatically can detect if you are sick or you got a disease. The machine can tell what types of disease you have. It is a made of steel and silver.

Really Mom! That’s amazing. How the hell did you do that?

As far as I could remember you great grandparents taught me what to create. They gave me ideas to work it out and details on shaping my inventions. I was inspired in my surroundings my master taught us also to do the best that we can. He said never be jealous to others. Make sure you have a heart in everything that you do. Take actions and do not easily get discourage. I tried it many times then I was happy because I successfully made it. I took it as a challenge of myself thanks to them for supporting me. Partly it was one of the reasons why I succeeded in my inventions. Calaintha said. Glykeria is listening while she keeps on looking to her mother because she demonstrates it in front of her. She has now got a lot of ideas what to make though she is speechless of what she see to the invention of her mother.

Thanks Mom for inspiring me you are really wonderful. Glykeria said. She kisses her mother and they hug tight.

Are we done now? It’s already late at night you must go to sleep.

Okay Mom! It’s time for me to lie down in my bed. They walk through the door while Dabney is watching TV after urinating earlier. He waits for them to finish their conversation.

Hey pop! Mom just shows me her inventions. I am proud of myself that you are my parents. I am blissful to have youbut I really should go to bed. Glykeria said. She kisses her parents and saying good night.

They parted ways. Glykeria go to her room and also her parents. Good night mom and pop.
