It’s the end of the spring planting season. The waters that fill the wells of the city are slowly getting lower and lower. The king has stationed guards at all the wells of the city. The water must be rationed in order for it to last during the summer. The citizens can only draw water from the well once per week.
“This is unusual” Keylyn said
Asai, Keylyn, and I are all eating lunch in Asai’s study. Today’s menu is bread, cheese, fruit and rice wine.
“Yes it is very unusual” Asai said “This usually happens later in the summer season giving the citizens time to prepare.”
“The summer planting is going to be disrupted. With not enough water there won’t be healthy crops.”
“Do you have crops that can go through drought and use very little water?” I asked
“Is there a plant like that?”Asai
