My eyes heavy with exhaustion slowly fluttered open. My eyes could not see. They sensed the light filtering through the optic nerve but is unable to make shape or form of the world around me. Too heavy to keep open I let them fall close again.  I was tired but I couldn’t go to sleep. I felt fine but my body is stiff and would not obey my orders to get up and move. What happened in The Mountain? Where am I? Why can’t I remember? Why does my head hurt? I groaned in pain surprised by how small it sounded. I tried opening my eyes again they wouldn’t move. The sounds of birds floated to my ears, they sang a sound that oddly reminds me of summer.
