ALINA’S POV I clenched my fist so tightly my nails dug into my palm. That grade-A asshole. I took a deep breath and scanned the crowd for my stupidly innocent roommate—the one I had warned before this exact moment. And there she was. Brittany was watching her dumbass boyfriend—well, ex now and forever, apparently—make out with a brunette who was sitting on his lap, her hand sliding down his chest like she belonged there. My vision went red. The moment I saw tears spill down Brittany’s cheeks, something in me snapped. They’ve broken up before, but she’d never actually caught him cheating. Mostly it was just his toxic behaviour that made them split. My feet moved before my brain could catch up. I pushed through the crowd and grabbed the brunette, pulling her off Brady and sending her stumbling to the floor. His eyes snapped open in anger—but then that stupid smirk appeared. “Hey sweetheart,” he said. “You want some attention too?” Barf. Seriously. Barf. I slapped him twice. Gasps erupted around us. “You are disgusting,” I said, wiping my hand on the brunette’s shirt as she scrambled up. “In every single way.” Then I turned around and hit her face. Hard. “You b***h—why would you hit me?” the brunette screeched. I glanced at her, unimpressed. “Are you kidding? You know he has a girlfriend. w***e-izilla.” She huffed, stomping her foot, rubbing her cheek where my slap had landed. “Next time, don’t try to sleep with someone else’s boyfriend.” Before I could say anything else, someone grabbed my wrist. Hard. I immediately slapped their hand away. The grip tightened. “You know,” Brady’s voice came from behind me, too close, “if you wanted my attention, you could’ve just asked.” I twisted to hit him again, but he leaned back just out of reach. “Stop fighting, sweet cakes.” I shuddered. My hand slipped into my purse— My switchblade. Before I could fully react, Brittany was suddenly in front of me, tears still streaking her face, eyes red and shaking. “You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach,” she snapped. A laugh escaped me before I could stop it, and I clapped a hand over my mouth. Classic Brit. Harry Potter references in the middle of emotional warfare. I swear that Kid watches to much TV Brady’s expression darkened. He tried to move toward her, but I stepped in front of Brittany immediately. My blade came out, pointing toward him. The room seemed to freeze. He was too tall. I realised that even as I held it up—this wouldn’t reach his face unless I stepped closer. He stared down at me, jaw tight. From the corner of my eye, I noticed people recording. Great. I should tell them to stop. Make them delete it. But I didn’t. Because maybe they should see him for what he really is. "If you come any closer you foul cockroach, I'll split your so called handsome face..., and don't come anywhere near Brittany anymore or we'll sue you for stalking" I put the blade back into my purse and pulled Brittany out of the club, she stumbled over her feet, still sobbing slightly and clutching my hand like her lifeline Pulling her towards the curb on the street, I stopped to wipe her tears "Hey it's okay, he's not good enough. I always said he wasn't good enough. If I see you anywhere near him again, I'll break your legs okay" I joke at the last part and she giggles slightly "I know, I just feel so stupid. I mean literally everyone knew he was cheating but me" she huffs as she dabs under her eyes "Baby you are stupid, next time, you trust me" She giggles and hugs me I sigh and pat her back, looking around to check whether anyone from our college is stepping out of the club but instead I spot this sleek black car driving towards us, I squint my eyes slightly "Don't look now Brit, but I think some hot mafia guys are about to kidnap us like in the movies" she giggles again and looks up and at the exact same time, the car door open and out steps....... Professor Hayes. Is he stalking me now. Brittany's cheeks flush as she stares at him..., and I sigh resisting the urge to face palm. I mean Brit we know he's handsome. His dark button down shirt rolled up at the sleeves, the top three buttons undone, hair messy and completely illegal, his pants......, nope we aren't going there I flush as well "Ladies" he says in that stupid voice of his and I shake my head slightly to get rid of any rubbish thoughts in my head "Professor" Brittany chirps, I swear if she didn't have red eyes you wouldn't know she was just crying. Adrian just smirks slightly, the irritating curve of his mouth and the dumb alcohol mixing together and I started getting hotter. Note to self: Drinking is always a bad idea His phone rings and the smirk disappeared as he waved goodnight, got back into his car and sped off I wonder what that was about
