As soon as the door was shut behind me, something felt off, the room felt funny. The air around me felt hot, too hot to be just the humid weather outside. Going to the thermostat, I checked to see if I’d left the heat on, but it was mid-summer. I haven’t touched the heat once yet since coming here. Maybe the old boiler had broken or something, the thermostat looked untouched. Walking to the radiator, I ran my hand along it to find it cold. Heading into the kitchen, I opened the porch door to let some air in. The air outside didn’t feel so hot, so that the house would become this hot. I couldn’t help myself but to let my eyes slide to next door, I didn’t know what I was looking for. Maybe Adam was there, and I could get another look at him, maybe.
