don't trust her 30

Chapter 30 Tony POV I don't know why, but I don't believe a single word she just told me. It seems like every sentence that comes out of her mouth is another lie. That's exactly why I put a tracker on the money. The bank card has a tracker linked to it. Whatever she spends, wherever she spends it, I'll know. If she withdraws cash, I'll know. If she hands that money over to someone else, I'll know that too. I wanted to see what she would do with it before making my final decision. I wanted this to work. She is the mother of my son. But that's all she is to me now. I don't trust her. Not anymore. What I need is another mate. That's the main reason I'm heading back to my pack. Maybe I'll find a woman who's honest, loyal, and worthy of standing beside me as Luna. Catherine can stay wherever she ends up. I don't care. As long as she stays away from Noah. We stopped at a clothing store and bought some new clothes before heading to the private jet. Once we were settled into our seats, the flight took off. It wasn't a comfortable trip. Heavy rain battered the aircraft, making the jet lurch through pockets of turbulence. Every sudden drop made the cabin shake. Noah's eyes grew wide with fear. "Daddy... is the jet going to crash?" He scrambled out of his seat and jumped into my arms. I wrapped him tightly against my chest. "No, son. The jet isn't going to crash. This sometimes happens when we're flying through storms. We'll be landing before you know it.",I gently rubbed his back. "Why don't you try to get some sleep while I hold you? Would that make you feel safer?" He nodded. "Yes, Daddy. I know you'll keep Mommy and me safe." His words made something twist painfully inside my chest. He hugged me tightly before resting his head on my shoulder. Within five minutes, I heard his soft little snores. I looked across at Catherine. She was asleep too. My wolf, Bany, stirred inside my mind. "You know how. Go into her mind while she's sleeping. Read her thoughts. You know you want to." He wasn't wrong. I'd thought about it more than once. If I could just see what she was hiding... maybe I'd finally know the truth. Closing my eyes, I reached for her mind. The familiar connection formed between us. Slowly, I slipped inside, careful not to alert her. I pushed against the entrance to her thoughts… But something stopped me. A mental wall. A powerful block. "Damn it," I muttered under my breath as I pulled away and opened my eyes. I knew this day would come eventually. She'd learned to shield her mind from me. That only made me more suspicious. I checked my watch. Only three hours had passed. Seven more hours to go. I leaned back in my seat, unable to relax. Everything that had happened over the past few days kept replaying in my head. Finally, I pulled out my phone and opened her bank account. After a moment's hesitation, I transferred more money into it. Whether I liked it or not, she would need somewhere to stay, food to eat, and rent to pay. It didn't mean I trusted her. It didn't mean I forgave her. It simply meant I wasn't going to leave the mother of my child with nothing. As I finished the transfer, I stared out at the rain-covered window. Maybe I should have taken Noah...And left Catherine in those cells. Only time would tell what else she had hiding up her sleeve.
