Elayne slammed the hotel room door behind her. She walked away with quick steps, terrified Aldo was lurking behind some corner. She needn"t have worried. The hall remained silent. When she found her room, she double-checked the number before sliding the keycard out of her skirt pocket and opening the door. Once inside, she leaned back against the frame. She barely made it to the bed before her body sagged. What in the heck had just happened? Flicking on the bedside lamp, the low light provided no answers.
