“So, what are you going to do now?” Elijah asks me, the clatter of our footsteps echoing through the hallway as we walk to the barroom.
That’s the million dollar question though, because I do not know what I’m going to do now. If I find a new assistant, Ella is going to be furious.
But what else am I supposed to do? She needs to rest. I can’t have her in the office all day, not until she’s better, anyway.
I really don’t want this, but unfortunately, I have no choice. It’s overwhelming now that dad’s gone and I’m left to handle all the calls and emails on my own.
Then there’s the challenge of finding someone trustworthy to look after Ella while I’m at work, as I don’t trust just anyone with her safety.
