CHAPTER 11

I packed my bag and took some money with me. I waved off my mom and started walking out the house.
“Am I getting weaker or cold?” I muttered when I saw me turning paler day by day. I shoved my hands in my pocket to feel safe and secure.
I was waiting outside the Harley park. There were crowd. A lot of people- they seemed like teen. I searched for Anakin. When I was doing it, I got a call from Mia.
“Hey Mia!”
“Sup?”
“Charley!”
“He asked out!!”
I frowned on the call.
“What? Who!?”
She scoffed and cleared her throat.
“The senior?”
“Of baseball team!”
I gasped.
“Really!!?”
“He was good though-”
I laughed.
“Yeah! Don’t mock me”
“Anyway, whatcha doing?”
“I just came here to the park..for skating…with Anakin”
She started to hype on the call.
“Shut up Mia!”
“He’s a good friend”
“It’d be good to be as friends!”
While I was talking over the phone, I saw Anakin far away from me, waving his hands towards me. I threw my head my and waved him back.
“I gotta go now”
“I’ll call you later”
“See ya!”
I hung upon the call and jogged towards him.
He reached his hands for a high-five. I chuckled and gave him one. I’d say from his face that he was looking for someone.
“What you looking for?” I asked in a hesitant.
He gasped and grabbed a bruiser’s hand. I smiled not knowing what to do.
“Charlotte, this is Noah”
“Noah Draven!”
“My cousin I told you over the phone”
WOAH!
He turned back to him and mouthed to speak.
“And Noah, this is Charlotte!”
“My friend from my new school!”
He looked perfect. The physical specimen was structured. But I remembered- I’m not supposed to fall for anyone.
I gave him a smile and said “Nice to meet you, Noah!” that’s all I did.
He came forward and hugged me gently but not with a bad intention. He seemed to be like that with everyone.
I smiled and thanked him for planning this club or whatever. He was quite busy with other people who came like us.
“Well, I’ll get going now!”
“Will see you later!”
“You can take the boards from the truck” he pointed out his fingers on the edge of the street.
I nodded and thanked him again.
“We’ll go and take the boards now?” Anakin asked.
“Oh, yeah”
I started walking with him to the edge of the street. There was truck- a modern truck with spray pain, art, stuffs like that with skateboards, helmets and more. Anakin got in the back and took and skating boards that was hanged on the sides and two helmets laying on the floor. He jumped back to the ground and smiled. He handed the red skate board to me and he took the black. He then gave me the black helmet to me and he took the red with him.
Is he strange?
I scoffed at him.
“Because it’s contrasting!” he pointed out.
“This guy is really funny!” I thought to myself.
We rushed back to the park and we noticed that the people have already moved in.
“Let’s hurry up!”
I nodded and kept my pace with him. We stopped by a long, round area that was almost below the altitude. It was secured by steel lining and the ground was made of cement. It was best to put on the helmet.
I saw Noah standing in the middle and organising people accordingly.
“Is he going to teach us? For the beginners?” I asked Anakin.
He nodded and smiled brightly.
We got down on the ground and waited for the instructions. After the alignment, Noah looked at us and smiled.
“The new ones her and the pro’s can go the next field” he pointed out another field that had lot of bends and humps that only well knowns can do. Lot of people moved there. There were hardly twenty left as new ones.
He brought his hands together and greeted us. He started the lesson. I was sure that I was gonna fall anyway but yet I managed. I looked at Anakin who was getting scolded by Noah every now and then for falling every time. But Anakin looked carefree and I liked it.
I was better for the first class. The sun had fallen and the session was about to get over. We all gathered in the centre and appreciated for our work.
“So, we’ll gather again on the weekends!”
“Thank you for your participation” he said and waved off. Anakin and I waited for him.
“It was really good..today’s session!” I smiled shyly.
He smiled back and patted my head.
“You did it great on the first session!”
I nodded daring not to blush.
“Better than Anakin” he tapped at Anakin’s back. I laughed and so did Anakin.
“It’s okay! I’ll be better and beat you down in skating one day!” he challenged Noah.
He crossed his arms.
“Anyway, you gotta get going?”
I nodded.
“Okay, see you later!” he waved his hands and moved to the other field. He stepped back for a moment, “Charlotte, you can have the board with you. It’s a giveaway to all the newbees!”
I smiled.
“Oh! That’s so sweet of you!”
“Thank you, Noah!”
He nodded and smiled. He then jogged to the other field.
I turned back to Anakin.
“You’ll go home with him?”
He nodded.
“Then okay…we’ll see at the weekend..”
“No, we’ll see in school tomorrow” I laughed.
He laughed back and tapped me on my shoulders. I waved him off and started heading home as it was late already.
