We took our car and started riding off the city. It was silent but it was weird.
“Hey mom”
“Why did you plan with them suddenly?”
“Huh?” she backed without paying attention.
“I mean, it’s been really a while since we’ve seen them”
“I’m happy”
“But…”
She slowed the speed and turned back to me now and then.
“You see, I told you we’ll be leaving to Texas soon”
“They live in Texas too”
“I thought you both can be good friends again”
“Since we don’t know anyone in Texas”
I sighed and slouched back to my seat. I can’t afford to leave my friends here. They’ve become an important part of my life that I can’t evacuate.
“Should we..”
She stopped me and replied back firmly.
“We are going no matter what”
“You have three months left”
I nodded and took out my phone.
“What?”
Anakin left me a voice message that I didn’t even notice all the day. I grabbed up my airpods and plugged in.
“Hey Charlotte! I thought if we could go out for a skating?
My cousin started a skaters camp and he asked out to join him. So..you wanna come?”
“Ooh”
I love skating but I didn’t know how to skate. I texted him back that I’ll join him.
I gotta leave my place soon. So, I thought I need to make best memories within the time. I had no idea how Mia or Jake or Anakin or Christine or Olives is going to react.
I didn’t sleep well yesternight since it was a new place. I dozed off on my seat.
My mom tapped my shoulders indicating that our house arrived. I felt sore for no reason. My back pained and my knees ached. Well yeah, it was a long travel.
I stretched out from the car and got down with all our bags. I waited for my mom to unlock the door. I threw the bag on the couch and started my way to my room.
“Wait a minute”
I smelled something bad while climbing up the stairs. I looked around.
“What the hell is it?”
I saw something bad. It was like a flesh. Someone’s flesh. It was stinky. It was covered with drips of blood and there were some flies flying around.
It was like someone’s brain has been popped out. It didn’t move but it nudged.
I really didn’t feel good.
“Moomm!”
She was busy with her work in her room. I squatted down. I felt bad to touch it. It was too disgusting.
I saw something strange. Something was moving in. It was covered with mucus.
I called out again.
“Charley!”
“What’s up now? We just now came back home!”
I heard my mom coming dropping her anklets down.
I pointed out my fingers to that thing that I couldn’t explain.
“Ewhhh”
“What is that!?”
I covered my nose.
“I don’t know”
“Please throw it out”
“It looks like someone’s brain”
My mom turned out to be disgusting. She went in the kitchen and brought a cover and a big stick. I moved away from that thing.
She tapped the sloppy thing with the stick she had in her hand.
“Yuck!!” I screamed at the sight of the mucus coming out.
It was like a worm coming out from that brain. It was covered fully with mucus and blood.
Shit.
It smelled bad.
I backed far away. She took it out with that stick and moved it in the cover. The worm had two big holes on the each side. It was disgusting.
She covered her nose with her shoulders and went out of house to throw it away in the bin. I went near the stair. It still had some spilling of blood. she came back in and asked me to wait out.
She took the floor cleaner and a mop and washed it away. The picture gave me something unusual. I felt dizzy and nauseous. I didn’t see that place. I covered my mouth and climbed upstairs to my room. I closed the door and sighed.
“What kinda s**t was it!?”
I turned on the geyser as I was feeling more sick. I fell on my bed and shrugged down. My life feels like it’s turning into a nightmare. The girl singing, my crackling bones and this brain…everything seems bad.
I took my towel and threw my clean dress on the bed. I went in the shower. It was relaxing but I felt bad.
I came out of the shower and applied my ointments. I shoved in a shirt and a knee length pants.
I called back Anakin.
“Hey Anakin!”
“Hi Charlotte!!”
“You ready?”
“Yep, I am!”
“Where should I come?”
“We’ll meet at the Harley park”
“Uhm Yeah”
“But I don’t have a board..”
“Don’t worry, my brother has a lot and you can take one”
“Haha! Thanks!”
“Will meet you there then”
“See you!”
“Bye!”
