I threw myself up from the bed because I didn’t want to feel lazy all the day. I made up my bed and turned the geyser on to take a bath. I did some warmup routine for my bones and took a sun tan through the window glass.
I took a bath and changed my clothes. I applied my moisturisers and I felt fresh. I went downstairs and took pills for my stomach and I walked by the dining room. I saw pancakes, caramel and fruits on the side. It looked lovely.
I washed my hands and hand ‘em slowly. After it, I took my general supplements.
After completing my work, I thought to spend my day with Mia.
I called Mia and asked her to come home. She said that she’d be within an hour. I laid on the couch and I turned on the television.
I kept on changing the channels because I was too indecisive and I felt nothing was good to watch. Amidst the sound of changing channels, I heard a sweet voice. That sweet voice I’ve heard before. I heard it from upstairs.
I put that tv on mute and listened it carefully making sure that it was not my imagination because of pills.
I slowly stood up from the couch and started walking with mild steps towards the upstairs.
I was right. It was from upstairs. I climbed the upstairs and a little girl appeared slowly out of nowhere. She stood near the bathroom facing the other side. She was wearing a white frock. It had some blood stains.
“Hey..”
I started my way to her. I can hear her singing the same song that I heard before. The other night.
I reached her and tapped her shoulders. She didn’t turn back and she stopped singing.
“Who are you…?” I asked bluntly not showing the nervousness in my throat.
She did nothing. I moved forward to the opposite to see her face.
“What the!?”
Her face was kinda drilled out completely. She was left with broken bones covered with blood and fleshes of muscles. Her face was distorted. It wasn’t even a face.
I screamed.
“Who the f**k are you!?”
The sight of her made me to puke. But how’d she sing with no mouth?
I pushed her away and ran downstairs. I bumped into a body.
“f**k!” I startled.
It was Mia. The force made her to bounce apart making her earphones tangled up. She fell on the ground.
“Oh!”
I couldn’t think about anything nut only that distorted face. I grabbed her hands and rushed upstairs. But there was no one and the bathroom door was left open. I could see the sun rays in.
“Mia!”
“I saw a little girl with a distorted face!”
She didn’t understand a thing. She was still busy with her earphones.
“Mia!”
She dropped the earphones on her pocket and looked at me.
“Why are you messed up?”
I took a grip of her hand and went nearer to the bathroom. I spotted drips of blood in front of the bathroom, where the girl stood before.
“It must be her blood!” I said impatiently to her.
She took off my hands and moved back. She looked at my back, my pants.
“You’re on your periods” she said calmly.
I frowned.
“What?”
I rushed to my room and looked at my mirror.
“Oh damn!”
I was on my periods. I went in the bathroom and changed quickly. But what I saw was real. And how come my blood be there? It on my stained on my pants.
I came out of my room and saw Mia leaning on the wall, looking her phone. I cared less and went downstairs to bring up a waste cloth to clean the blood. I sprayed some disinfectant and I wiped it out with the cloth and threw it in the bin.
I started at Mia, who was still laughing at her phone.
“Mia!?”
She startled up and kept her phone in.
“I’m sorry!”
I pointed my chin to the downstairs. I started walking down and she followed me.
We both sat on the couch like we were about to discuss something serious.
I told her everything. Everything that I saw and everything I was going through. She gasped at first and then she understood that I was going through hard times.
“I understand, Charley”
“Why is it happening only on your odds?”
“Have you ever talked about this before with your family?”
I nodded no.
She patted my shoulder and brought her arms close to mine.
“Maybe we can study about it?”
I frowned at her.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded.
“Let’s give it a try”
