CHAPTER 13

“Is it still a dream?”   “What was it really?” “Why my odds are always bad?” I muttered myself and shrugged down with my eyes closed. I didn’t have energy to even move my feet. I fell on the floor to fall asleep. Why god chose me? I feel terrible on my odds… I felt water sprinkling on my face. “Charley, are you okay?” I heard a scared voice. I squinted my eyes open to see a lovely face with the golden light from the ceiling. “Mom..I could have opened up my eyes if you’ve called my name..” “You don’t have to make me wet in this cold night..” I chuckled faintly. “Baby, I thought that you fainted!” She held my arms and helped me to slouch on the wall. “What’s wrong honey?” I sighed. “I just had some nightmare mom..” I felt that I was too tired to say that. “Can you just carry me up to my room?” She nodded. She carried me to bedroom and placed me in the bed. She then raised a blanket over me and wiped out the water in my face with a tissue. “I’m sorry to come home this late at night…” I smiled. “It’s okay mom.. I’m happy if you had a great time” She kissed me softly on the forehead and turned the lamp off. She left the room closed. I fell asleep soon after. I woke to the alarm blaring like the speakers of our neighbour. “s**t” I felt the effect in my body. It was sore but the pain was controllable. I managed to get from my bed and then felt bad to see my pants bleeding. “Ohh s**t again!” I saw the blood stains on the bed too. “But I got my periods already” I rushed to my bathroom to check myself. I confirmed that it wasn’t my period. “What the hell is this!?” “It’s gonna be normal that these things are happening because I’m turning 17” I sighed deeply and rolled up all the sheets on my bed and washed it with my hands once to remove the blood stains. I took off my pants and did the same. I turned on the geyser and sat on a chair for a while packing up my school stuffs ad then took my dress out from my cupboard. I went on a bath and came out wrapped in a towel. I pulled off my towel and saw something on my waist. “Did someone stab me?” I saw a bruise on my waist. I pressed it to check if it pains. “Oh fish!” It pained. I first got changed in my clothes and applied my medicines on. I sighed. I called out my mom. She came up with her apron. “Good morning Charley!” I went to her with my shirt rolled up. “Mom, look here” “It’s paining and I’ve no idea where it came from” She came closer and touched the bruise. “Mom! It’s paining!” She took her hand back like an electric shock. “I’m sorry, dear” “Did you fall anywhere?” I thought about it for a moment and nodded no. She went near my medicine shelf and took out a first aid from it. She knows it. She knows it already that my ages coming in odd are always isn’t or wasn’t good. She took out a pain reliever ointment and the bandage out from the box. She rubbed the ointment on my waist softly like a feather and then wrapped the bandage around my waist. “Thanks mom!” I chuckled softly. She patted my head. “Breakfast’s ready, come down” she said and left the room. I took my phone and my bag and rushed downstairs. I had my breakfast and took my supplements. I saw my mom cleaning the dishes. I wanted to tell her that I wasn’t feeling good these days. “Mom…” I whined from my seat on the dining table. She hummed back in response. “I’m not feeling good these days..” She washed her hands and dried it up with the towel lying next to the sink. “Hmm” she said while sitting opposite to my seat. “Continue” I sighed. “I’m not feeling good these days… I feel so sore even now.. everything seems strange…it’s never been this bad before, mom” She wrapped her hands around mine. “Baby, I know what you’re going through” “But we can get over it together.. it’s okay… everything will change one day.. it’s okay if you feel low.. don’t worry, no one will hurt you ‘cause I’m with you always” “I understand you.. it’ll change” “We’ll be alright” She resumed from her seat and gave me a warm hug that made me to feel lightened at least for that day. “I love you, mom” She smiled and kissed back on my cheek. “I love you too, my baby” I carried my bag and a bottle of that bitter juice she gives while my bones feel sore. She dropped me by my school and left for her work.
