Chapter 10 - The rescue

*** Zane’s POV ***

So I set about looking for them, I don’t know why but I can’t just walk away I have to make sure everything is okay. I hope am not growing soft  All of a sudden, Usually I couldn’t care less about a girl. 

After about 15 minutes of wading  through drunken crowds and pushing girls off me I finally find them standing in a corner with three guys. f**k. One of them was kissing her friend while the other two were muscling their way in on Ella. My eyes narrowed as one of the two guys patted his friends back nodding towards the bedrooms as the other one winked back at him in agreement. They are clearly planning to take Ella to the bedroom. At this point she looked like she was in no fit state to comprehend what was happening let alone know what they were plotting, How much had she really had to drink? How silly can she honestly be? 

I grabbed an empty bottle and marched over, quickening my pace when the two guys took hold of her waist and tried to pull her away, she tried to pull back and I heard her say no this was when I launched at them hauling the first guy out of the way. I punched him right on the side of the face making him instantly hit the ground then before the other guy could make a move he took a blow to his stomach which took the wind straight out of him. I didn’t need the bottle after all my fist was enough.

“ What part of no do you not understand ? stay the f**k away from her do you hear me?!!” Anger was boiling up inside

The guy who was winded attempted to get up and had the nerve to speak back at me

“ Mate it is hardly a crime to like the look of someone and anyway we were planning on sharing...”

Before he could say anything else the bottle was smashed over his head and he was out cold. 

Bethany and Ella's mouths were wide open ,stumbling on the spot , Ella tried to take a few steps forward,  I caught her just before she fell . 

“ How much have you both had to drink?”  My body hovered over them

Ella turned to Bethany answering “um...not much”

Does she think I am stupid? 

I lowered my eyebrows and threatened “I Won’t ask again” I was seething on the inside.

“ Okay , okay “ Bethany quickly jumped in “ Well we had one at mine before we left , two here and then a few shots “

I let out an angry sigh and rolled my eyes. “ For f***s sake ..” 

That is when I decided the night was over. Since Ella could barely stand I picked her up in a Fireman's lift then turned to Bethany “Make sure you have all your things you are both leaving NOW!”

Bethany didn’t think twice and quickly picked up their jackets and followed behind, Ella on the other hand was trying to squirm over my shoulder telling me to put her down and that she didn’t want to leave, I had a hand over her dress on the back of her thighs so no one could see what was under there. 

When we were outside of the house I told them both to get in the f*****g car, Bethany was in like a shot but Ella put up a protest “Why do we need to listen to you ? Your not our parent” 

She was brave with a drink in her .I was quickly loosing my patience.

I shoved her in the back and made sure the were both strapped in. When I closed the door Ella made a salute gesture shouting “yes sir” with Bethany trying not to giggle .This was going to be a long f*****g drive home.

Bethany told me where she lived and Ella’s house wasn’t far after that.

“If any of you are sick in my car then you can clean it up yourself I ain’t touching that s**t and what the f**k were you thinking getting so drunk tonight?”

Of course Ella had to be the one to pipe up. Where was that quiet little mouse from before ?

“It’s a party everyone else at that party was drinking most people were drunk we just wanted to give it a try... “

“You guys were f*****g stupid anything could’ve happened to you” I couldn’t help my anger I kept thinking about what would’ve happened in that bedroom And they seem to be completely oblivious to the dangers they were in. 

She just wouldn’t let it go. “ So it’s okay for you to drink and go to parties but not us?”

That’s it. I’ve had enough of her back chat. I pulled the handbrake up to make the whole car turn before it came to a sharp halt. 

“Are you trying to kill us?’” Ella shouted pulling herself up 

I turned around to face them with the same anger and rage .I was livid.

“ First of all I  haven't drank tonight, you two the other hand can barely stand, I saved you from getting Dragged into a room by two guys who probably would of assaulted you , how could you both be so f*****g stupid?!” 

“ I said no to them” Ella said quietly lowering her head 

“AND DO YOU THINK THEY TOOK THAT ANSWER SERIOUSLY?!!” I was now yelling loosing control of my anger inside

“AND DID YOU KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR DRINKS?! ANYONE COULD HAVE SLIPPED SOMETHING IN THEM LIKE DRU-“ I stopped myself . 

Bethany had tears streaming down her cheeks. “ He’s right Ella , am so sorry I didn’t pay more attention and help you , when we recognized them from the last party we should have just left , am sorry am such a s**t friend “ 

Ella too was trying to fight back the tears “ Hey don’t say that Bethany , you are such a good friend to me, I don’t know what I would do without you, I didn’t need to drink so much and they were friendly to begin with, anyway we know now to be more careful and no more creepy guys for us” 

After dropping Bethany off it was only a short drive to Ella’s, it was in complete silence.

 Arriving at the house I didn’t know if Ella’s parents were in or not, How bad would it look if I just dropped a drunken girl off at the door and drove off. I opened the car door and picked Ella up by the legs and put her arms around my neck.

“My parents aren’t in incase you are wondering” she slurred her words

The drink had really sunk in now.
