  MARIA   A gust of breath escaped her lips and as if he had heard the sound, his eyes left the bed and rested on her face. They roved over it like a caress, leaving trails of fire on every part of skin he touched.   Her breathing kicked up.   That soldering gaze dropped to her lips and stayed. Her tongue peeked out to wet her dry lips and his throat bobbed.   "I..." He shook his head hard. "I don't think this is a good idea."
