Ava remained in his arms for a full minute. The comfort and relief she felt in his arms was unmatched.
She withdrew from him and held him at arm's length, studying his face. "You Okay?"
Luke nodded, moved by the genuine concern on her face. He was slowly starting to win her heart, and that eased a smile out of him.
He kissed her forehead and hugged her again.
Mama-san cleared her throat loudly and Luke and Ava jumped. They'd totally forgotten they weren't alone.
