"I just thought I'd wait for you to come home."

Ava nodded, and punched in the passcode.
"You alright?" Luke asked tentatively, trying to decipher her mood. "Yeah, sure," Ava replied in a small voice.
She went up to her room and came down a few minutes later. She strode into the kitchen and brought out the pack of cereal from the fridge.
Luke had followed her into the kitchen, like a puppy. He wanted to talk to her, but he didn't know what to say.
