Alex arrived at the 30th anniversary of the CHILDREN IN MY HEART orphanage a bit later than she had planned. She was part of the hospitality committee, so she was supposed to be there early enough to join others in putting some things in place. She quickly showed her vip pass card at the entrance and rushed into the hall.
She was taking the flight of stairs to the second floor when she spotted someone familiar. She paused on the stairs, trying to get a good glimpse of the face.
The man had leaned away from the girl he'd embraced, who looked way younger than him, and was smiling down at her now.
Ava blinked repeatedly, to make sure she was seeing properly.

She decided to say a quick hi to him, before she heads upstairs
