The car tore down the highway, and an hour later, they arrived at the cemetery.
Katherine set the offerings in front of her parents' headstone, then bowed.
The unease in Spencer's chest deepened.
Something was off. He could feel it.
And yet when he looked at her, she seemed no different than usual.
'Maybe I'm just overthinking it.'
Spencer also bowed with her.
"Spencer... You once promised you'd stay by my side for the rest of our lives, that you'd love only me and never leave me. Now, in front of my parents... Can you say those words again?"
She asked the question on purpose, knowing the camera was quietly recording.
She wanted to see what Spencer would do, what he would say, standing in front of her dead parents after betraying her.
