Chapter 18Cameron awoke in short intervals. The first time, he was being carried somewhere by a large man. His blood soaked into the person’s blue shirt. He tried to thank him for helping, but he couldn’t seem to talk. The second occasion was much more disconcerting. He found himself lying on a cold metal table. His shirt and jacket had been cut or ripped off. His arm hurt. Both the part that was left and the area where it used to be. And he felt so cold. He groaned and turned to look at the damage to his body. The movement alerted someone in the room. A hand pressed a cloth against his nose. It smelled like chemicals.
