Alex’s POV:
Before Bea woke up:
I know alphas aren’t supposed to feel nervous. Not openly anyway.
But any man would, looking at the woman lying in my arms.
When I formulated the plan to kidnap her, I wasn’t really in a sane state of mind. But I couldn’t not do it.
I knew I would have gone berserk if I watch her marry another man. I was taught the signs of finding a fated mate and I knew this wasn’t it.
She wasn’t mine.
But I couldn’t stop it. I had to have her.
Right now she is lying peacefully, asleep in my arms. I watched her, beautiful beyond words, in a pure white wedding dress that was so long the hem was almost touching the floor.
White doesn’t suit her. It doesn’t accentuate her shiny auburn hair, ready to set fire to anyone or anything that gets in her path.
I have seen her train with the other wolves in her pack and I know her skills are excellent. So strong and beautiful, I couldn’t look away.
That’s why when I knew she was getting married, I couldn’t stop the jealousy gnawing at my heart.
The alpha of the sunset pack is my friend and I should be wishing him the best but I couldn’t. Not if it means seeing her with someone else.
I do not understand this obsession with her. It is madness but I cannot seem to stop it.
I only know that it is there.
I placed her softly on the bed prepared especially for her. It wasn’t easy bringing her to my pack. In fact, I exhausted all means to breach the security at sunset pack to kidnap her.
But I have her here. And it is worth it.
My mind flashed back to when I decided to kidnap her.
One night before her wedding, I talked to my beta and gamma about her.
“You’re crazy!” my loyal gamma, Jade, yelled at me.
I growled at him. The growl was harsh enough for him to shut up.
“Calm down alpha” Nate, my beta, said. “If this girl is your mate, then all you have to do is claim her. No one would stop you.”
“She isn’t” I replied. My expression darkened. I hate doing anything that would cause trouble to my pack but there was no backing down from this.
“Alex...” my beta opened his mouth in shock.
“Crazy, our alpha has gone crazy.” Jade started muttering beneath his breath.
“Either you help me or don’t get in my way.” I said.
“Alpha, this means war with the sunset pack!” Nate yelled.
“No it doesn’t. I am not declaring war on them.” I said nonchalantly.
“Don’t you think kidnapping the alpha’s bride means declaring war?!” Jade asked hotly.
“Only if I hurt her” I said.
“Which you won’t be doing...?” Nate asked, though he most definitely knew I won’t.
“No, I have something different in mind.” My wicked grin was enough to tell him what exactly it was.
“You’re sick alpha!” Jade yelled and ran away. He’s the baby of the group and clearly we have spoiled him too much.
Nate shook his head and mind link Jade to get his ass back here.
We started planning on how to kidnap the bride.
Back to the present
I kissed her gently on the forehead before walking out of the room. There are tracks that need to be covered up if I want to live with Bea in peace for a while.
‘But once that’s done and you’re awake......’ I let my thought trail down a dangerous path before letting out a smile that my pack members call evil.
