My eyes fluttered open as a harsh morning beam cut through the darkness of the cabin’s living room.
“Rise and shine, my beautiful future Luna!” Wyatt chirped happily.
Of course my mate would be a morning person, I thought, chuckling softly.
I groaned in response to his praise as the memories of yesterday came rushing back. Suddenly, I was wide awake. I wasn’t in the omega quarters anymore—I was in one of the private cabins with my mate, the Alpha of another pack.
Wyatt’s enticing, savory scent filled my nose, mingling with the rich aroma of fresh-brewed coffee and sweet cinnamon bread. My mouth watered as he approached, a plate in hand. He slid onto the couch beside me and rested one hand on my thigh. Sparks erupted under his touch, shooting down my legs and making me shiver in delight.
“I know everything’s moving fast,” Wyatt began, “but I want you to go dress shopping with Tom today. I need to meet with your Alpha about some pack business—and let him know you’ll be coming with me.”
His words continued, but I was completely distracted, mesmerized by his dancing green eyes. My gaze drifted lower, tracing the sculpted lines of his abdomen. A low growl rumbled from his throat, and I realized he’d caught where my eyes had wandered.
We locked eyes for one tense second—and then I gave in.
I leaned forward, kissing him softly at first, like he might break. His lips met mine in a slow, spark-filled brush that ignited something deeper. When we kissed again, it was no longer careful. The passion between us roared to life.
Wyatt pulled me into his lap, my thighs straddling his hips. I gasped as I felt his hardness pressing through his sleep pants, and a soft moan escaped my lips. I ground my hips against him instinctively, my body searching for release. His hands traveled up my back, fingers tangling in my hair before giving a firm tug to expose my neck.
He growled low as he pressed kisses along my throat, then lower, down to my exposed cleavage.
“Wyatt…” I breathed, rocking harder against him.
My body burned, aching with need. I wasn’t ready to fully mate yet—it would be my first time, and I wanted it to be special. I’d always planned to save myself for my fated mate and hoped they’d be willing to wait. But with Wyatt, resisting felt nearly impossible. My wolf wasn’t helping either, howling in the back of my mind: Mount him.
I quickened my rhythm, chasing the wave cresting inside me.
Wyatt captured my mouth with his again, tongue plunging deep as our lust took over.
“Oh, Wyatt,” I moaned, as pleasure overtook me and a gush of release rushed through me.
Wyatt groaned, his hips jerking beneath me, and I felt warmth seeping through his pants. I hadn’t meant to let things go so far—but something about him set me ablaze. I craved him in every way.
“We should get cleaned up before Tom gets up,” Wyatt murmured, his voice thick with desire.
I sighed, reluctantly peeling myself off of him. We stood—only to see Tom step around the corner with a smug, knowing look. He didn’t say anything, but the smirk on his face said plenty.
Flushing with embarrassment, I hurried into the bathroom and shut the door behind me, letting out a long sigh.
I needed to get myself together. Wyatt deserved more than a horny omega. I wanted to show him that I was smart. Capable. Worthy of the title of Luna.
I showered quickly and got ready with the simple routine I’d always followed—thankfully, it didn’t require makeup. When I returned to the kitchen, Wyatt was dressed in a business-casual suit, looking every bit the powerful Alpha. Tom, in contrast, wore jeans and a T-shirt.
“Remember, use the pack card for whatever she wants,” Wyatt said, glancing at Tom.
“Yeah, yeah, I got it,” Tom replied with a playful eye-roll. “Don’t worry. I can handle it, man.”
Wyatt growled lightly, but Tom ignored it, focusing on making his breakfast.
“I’m ready to go whenever,” I said quietly, stepping into the kitchen. I didn’t want to interrupt, especially with how testy Alphas could be in the mornings.
Wyatt turned to me instantly, crossing the room in a few strides and sweeping me into his arms. He peppered my face with a flurry of kisses, making me laugh.
“I know we just met and you won’t be gone long,” he said softly, “but I’m going to miss you while you’re dress shopping.” He paused to kiss me again. “Tom has the credit card—get whatever you want for the ball. And when we’re back at my pack, I’ll take you shopping for everyday clothes, too.”
His warm smile melted me completely. I didn’t care about the clothes. All I wanted was to be close to him, forever.
Wyatt released me with one last kiss and moved toward the door, tossing me a wink before stepping outside. The door closed behind him, and I sighed dreamily.
“Ugh, you two are disgusting,” Tom teased, fake-gagging beside me.
I laughed. “Ready to go?”
Tom grabbed the keys and nodded. We headed out.
We rode in Tom’s black SUV toward Taylorsville—a medium-sized town about 25 minutes from the pack’s borders. I hadn’t spent much time there; omega servants worked long hours and rarely had access to cars. Still, I’d managed to tag along with others once or twice a year to buy necessities.
Tom was quiet during the drive, his mind elsewhere. I didn’t mind. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable.
When we pulled up in front of Ru’s Dress Shop, I felt a wave of self-consciousness wash over me. This place looked fancy. My best clothes were hand-me-down uniforms, and I already felt like I didn’t belong.
Tom seemed to notice my discomfort. He shifted in his seat.
“You know,” he said, “I was planning to wait in the car. But I can come in with you if you want.”
I looked at him gratefully and nodded with a soft smile.
Inside, the shop was buzzing. Workers bustled about, pulling gowns from racks and checking out customers. It was overwhelming—but I was determined. I would find a dress. I wanted Wyatt to be proud to show me off. I would be his Luna, and I would do it well.
A tall, skinny she-wolf with dark hair approached us, eyeing me with clear disdain.
“Can we help you with anything?” she asked coldly.
“Yes,” I said, standing tall. “I’m here to find a dress for the ball tonight.”
She arched a brow. “We’re very busy today. I’m not sure we have anything… suitable for someone of your size. Or your budget.”
Tom growled beside me. Her eyes widened as he pulled out a sleek black credit card.
“My future Luna will be trying on dresses today,” he said sharply. “Bring me someone who knows what they’re doing. You clearly lack both customer service and brains.”
Her face went pale. She scurried back to the counter, whispering to an older woman. A moment later, a young blonde woman came over, all smiles.
“Hi there!” she chirped. “How can I help you today?”
