Jake’s ‘inner wolf’, who has already steadfastly determined Snow to be his mate, seethes to the surface; and, indignantly lashes out by authoritatively growling in a ferocious tone, “Snow’s not a rogue; she’s my mate! … And; she will be this pack’s Luna; and, they will respect her as such!”
This was Snow’s first glimpse at the underlying rage which dwells down inside of Jake Thornton; and, she was slightly taken aback by it … she even shuddered, and, shuffled back a little, when she first started hearing that almost ‘demonic’ sounding voice emitting from his sinisterly, pursed lips. Although admittedly, at the same time; Snow … or, more than likely, Snow’s ‘inner wolf’ … was strangely enamored by the intense ferocity; and, somewhat aroused by his ‘wolf’s’ powerfully, domineering presence.
