5. Deciding To Be Bold

1777 Words
Cheyanne After collecting all my things from Michael's place, I went straight to work. The two hours that I had requested were already up. I didn't want to take advantage of the fact that Jimmy and I were close. I also had to take my suitcase with me because I didn't have the time to drop them at home. Being alone at the back of the car gave me no choice but to think about what had happened. Honestly, I was heartbroken, but I thought that I'd be bawling my eyes out. I did cry for a while, but I felt better knowing I found out now, rather than later. I needed to get my mind off this sh*t and so, I was going to drown myself with work. I might even take a few extra shifts to earn more and keep my mind occupied on something other than Michael. The taxi pulled up to Jimmy's. I paid the driver and got out, dragging my suitcase along with me. It seems today was not my lucky day at all. I struggled to get the suitcase out of the back and it popped open, scattering all my things on the floor in front of the establishment. It was like it was punishing me, because the driver offered to put it in the trunk, but I declined, telling him that I didn't mind keeping it in the backseat with me. And if my day couldn't get any worse, I slipped and fell flat on my ass. People going about their businesses were staring at me like a mad woman. I didn't blame them. I couldn't. My eyes were puffy from crying earlier on and my clothes and hair were disheveled from the fall. I quickly got up before I embarrassed myself any further. I went inside the building and went straight to my locker room to change. I keep a few of my work clothes here just in case something happens, like now. I usually take them home on the weekends and then bring them back on Mondays. I entered the locker room and changed immediately. I'm glad that Jimmy respected his female employees enough to not make us wear anything too short or uncomfortable. I had to make up for lost time, because I still needed to eat and my rent was due soon. I fetched my makeup from the locker. I can't look like sh*t. I needed those tips. I put on some concealer, eyeliner and my signature cherry lip gloss. They made my lips seem perfectly pink. I got my hairbrush and ran it through my hair, fixing my natural curls. I was ready for the evening now. As soon as I stepped out into the bar, Jimmy gave me instructions to go the the VIP section because we were kind of short staffed tonight. Great! "Jimmy, please. Anywhere but there. I'm not feeling too cheery right now and I wouldn't want to upset any of your VIPs tonight." I begged. "Why? What's wrong?" He asked. I didn't want to air my business, but if I wanted him to feel sorry for me, I needed to let him know. "I caught Michael in bed with another woman, in his apartment." I told him. Shocked registered on his face. Everyone knows that Michael and I had been together for two years. We were inseparable, even here at work. "What?! Are you kidding?" He asked , still in disbelief. "No, I'm not." I replied. "Sh*t! What caused that?" He asked. " I told him that I wanted to wait until I graduated to have s*x, but he couldn't wait." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "What? Wait, are you saying you guys never had s*x in the two years you've been together?" He asked, again disbelieving what I was telling him. "Nope. As a matter of fact, I'm a virgin." I just put it out there. "WHAT?!" "Yes, this sexy body of mine has never been touched before." I needed to stop because I didn't want to be responsible for giving Jimmy a heart attack. He smirked and I knew something was coming. "Well, I could do you the honors." He said. "Jimmy, you know I don't look at you that way." I told him. "I know, but I couldn't help but to shoot my shot." He said. "I think I need to get back to work. My bills aren't going pay themselves and you're not paying me to stand here and talk to you." I said. I kept working for the rest of the night, putting my all into it to keep me distracted. I served a couple that were newly engaged and it made me sad to think that I didn't know if that'll ever be me. Why can't I have a happy ending? I sighed. Jimmy came to where I was. He was determined to get me to help out in the VIP section. "Please please please serve the VIP section." He pleaded. "Ok. I'll do it, but you owe me and trust me, I will collect." Jimmy walked off and for the first time tonight, I averted my attention to the VIP section. There was a group of very handsome men. One of which was staring at me. He was dark, with hazel eyes. Even from sitting down you could tell that he was fit. His eyes raked my body up and down. His friend hit him on the shoulder and he turned to him. All of them then looked towards my direction, making me self conscious. Well, here goes nothing. I summed up all my courage and went in their direction. Mr. Dark and Handsome's eyes widened. "Hi. Welcome to Jimmy's. I'm Cheyanne and I'll be your waitress for tonight. What can I get for you gentlemen?" "Hi Cheyanne. I'm Dylan. This is Elijah and Noah and over there is the Handsome Lucas." Dylan said mischievously. Lucas gave him a side eye. Dylan ignored him and held out his hand for me to shake. I hesitated a bit. "Come on, I don't bite." "I do." Said the one named Noah. I gasped at his bluntness. My cheeks flamed up, long forgetting Dylan's hands waiting for me to put mine in his. "Leave the girl alone. Let's order more drinks." The one named Elijah said and I gave him a smile of gratitude. "Why don't you bring a bottle of scotch and five shot glasses." Noah said." Five glasses? Is there someone else joining them? "It's for you." I guess he saw the confusion on my face. He looked straight at Lucas, who was giving him a look that says 'not a good idea'. I took that as my cue. "I would love to, but I can't. I'm still at work and I have school tomorrow." I politely declined. "OK. It was nice to meet you. Right Lucas?" Dylan said. Lucas rolled his eyes. These guys were up to something. "Yes, it was." He said. "OK, you guys too. Let me get you served." I smiled and walked off. My nerves were all over the place being beside Lucas, but I couldn't let them know that. I was supposed to be sad, but oddly I was not. I served their drinks and in turn earned a big tip. Who were those guys. They had money to throw around, leaving me $500. I was working, deciding not to go back to the VIP, when I saw Michael enter the bar with that b*tch. Why did he have to come here tonight? He knew I was working. I ignored him and went to the locker room. I needed to get out of here. Everyone who knew we were together was staring at him and his b***h, then me. They wanted to get a reaction out of me, but I wouldn't satisfy their needs. The wound was still fresh and he dug a knife into it and ripped it open again. It seems that he couldn't wait to get rid of me. This is not the same man that I fell in love with. Or maybe he was pretending to be nice, so that he could've f*cked me. When I came out of the locker room, Michael was at the door waiting for me. What the f*ck did he want now? I walk past him, acting like I didn't see him, but he had other plans. He grabbed my arms and pushed me up against the wall, pinning me with his body. "Michael, please stop. What are you doing?" I asked. He responded by kissing my neck and whispering in my ear. "I still want you to give me another chance." He said. Was he crazy? Did he think after what I found out I would be that stupid? "Hell would have to freeze over before I let that happen. Now let me the f*ck go!" I tried pushing him off me but he didn't budge. He kept pressing his body into mine, which made me uncomfortable because I could feel the evidence of his arousal. "Please. Where is the Michael I fell in love with?" I asked. "He left with you when you did." He said, rubbing his hands on my body. "Michael, that was only a few hours ago and besides, if anybody deserves to be angry it should be me. You cheated on me" I said, getting angry. He was about to put his hand inside my panty, when I saw a figure in the corner of my eyes. "Lucas! Please help me!" I shouted. He immediately came forward and I sighed in relief. "Thank god you're here." "What is going on here?" He asked. "None of your f*cking business, so go back to where you were coming from." Michael hissed angrily. He tightened his grip on me. "Michael, let me go. You cheated on me so we are over. And your girl is waiting for you at the bar." I told him. "You heard the lady." Lucas said. He reluctantly let me go and walked off. Now that he was gone, the anger and fear washed off and I was embarrassed. "Thank you, Lucas. I couldn't imagine how far he would have gone if you hadn't shown up." I said. "It's no problem." He replied. As he was about to walk away, I decided to be bold. I grabbed him and molded our lips together before he could even register what was going on. I might regret this later, but I wanted to feel those lips on mine and so I made a move. Please don't come back to bite me in the *ss.
