The Bumps

289 Words
Life has been super good for us. Leila is doing good in school, I have completed school and now am just a stay at home mom with Leila.  We sill go to the doctor every 2 months for check-ups for her bumps. After our most recent appointment, the doctors told us to watch them as they have grown and are changing shape.  We watch the bumps every day and write down everything we see changing or getting better. The bumps don't really seem to be getting better but they don't seem to be getting any worse.  One day after Leila got home from school she came to me and wanted me to look at the bumps as she said they hurt and her shirt felt tighter than when she put it on this morning. I lifted up her shirt and the bumps were no longer just bumps they were starting to look as if she were growing wings out of where the bumps were. I immediately called the doctor and told them what was going on and they told me to rush her to the hospital to have them professionally checked and to see if there was anything that the doctors could do for us. We rushed to the hospital and the doctors checked her out and came to me with a very nervous yet curious look. "I'm afraid there is nothing we can do for her, but we are very interested in the case of what caused this to happen." After several tests and X-rays and ct scans, we were finally allowed to go home. The only thing we found out is that no one knows the cause and that there is nothing the doctors can do about the problem.
