Chapter 31 Tuesday 03 February 2032 There was nothing special about 17 Barnstaple Avenue. Like all its terraced neighbours, it had a small walled area at the front, not big enough to park a car but sufficient to accommodate a motorcycle. A bay window, with deep crimson curtains, took up most of the space of the front façade, with a white UPVC front door to its left. Looking up, above the downstairs bay, there was a large double-glazed bedroom window with mustard-coloured curtains and another narrower frosted glass window to its left, obviously belonging to the bathroom.
