Summer’s POV I should go back inside. The thought repeated itself over and over as I stood outside Lena’s apartment building, my fingers wrapped tightly around the small pharmacy bag. Inside it… Three pregnancy tests. Three. As though buying more would somehow change whatever answer was waiting for me. I released a slow breath. Not yet. I couldn’t do it yet. I wasn’t ready. I climbed the stairs to Lena’s apartment, unlocked the door as quietly as I could, and slipped inside. The apartment was silent. Good. She wasn’t home yet. I quickly walked into the bathroom. The pharmacy bag suddenly felt heavier than it should. I opened the cabinet beneath the sink. Extra shampoo. Cleaning supplies. A basket of towels. I tucked the bag all the way to the back until it disappeared
