Something in the AirWe stood together alongside the bigger lads and the old grim-faced men, now looking even older. The emerging light of dawn revealing hundreds of smoking wraiths rising into the Belfast skyline. Carrying with them the essence sucked from the many hollowed creatures around me. The smell of cordite from the guns mingled with the smoke from the burning homes and buildings, and lingered in the air as the leftover threat intended. The sectarian governments answer to the demand for equal rights. The people were angry and argued among themselves, and although filthy and tired, we listened to the harsh irate words around us, trying to understand it all. The three men arrived with a small crowd in tow. First one, then another, spoke with an authority that demanded you listen,
