Audrey's POV:
Tristan rushed forward first.
The moment he saw me about to fall onto Elena, he shoved me away with all his strength.
Then, with a quick turn, he caught Elena in his arms.
His voice immediately softened as he gently soothed her trembling body.
Elena's tightly clenched hand loosened at once.
I stumbled backward, losing my balance.
My back slammed hard against the edge of the bed.
Pain shot through me, and tears instantly welled in my eyes.
Mom pointed at me, trembling with rage.
"Audrey, have you lost your mind? That's your sister!"
"I didn't touch her! She fell on her own."
My back throbbed with every breath.
Still, I bit down hard on my lip, forcing myself to swallow all the hurt and resentment burning inside me.
"She grabbed my wrist and tried to pull me down with her."
I held up my wrist, the skin already red from where she had gripped me.
Tristan stared at the marks.
For a split second, he froze.
His arm around Elena loosened slightly.
"Audrey, I already apologized to you. Why did you still push me?"
Her voice was soft and broken.
"I just… I just wanted us to make up."
A string of quiet sobs filled the room.
I struggled to push myself up against the wall.
"I told you, I didn't. She was the one who—"
"Enough!"
Tristan's sharp voice cut me off.
The tenderness he'd shown Elena moments ago was gone.
His eyes were cold as he looked at me.
I stared at all of them.
Mom stood there with her hands on her hips, looking down at me.
Dad frowned, his eyes filled with disappointment.
Looking at them, I suddenly found the whole scene absurd.
"Mom, I didn't break that vase back then. And Daisy wasn't lost, either."
I raised my hand and pointed straight at Elena.
"One minute ago, she admitted it herself. She broke the vase and kicked the shards into my room. She was the one who poisoned Daisy. She has never been as innocent as she pretends to be."
"You're lying!"
Mom stormed over and slapped me across the face.
"Try slandering your sister again. I dare you! You'd turn against your own sister over a man? Are you even human? She's pregnant! How could you be so heartless?"
She had put all her strength into that slap.
My ears rang violently.
A sharp pain twisted through my lower abdomen.
It took me a long moment to steady myself before I finally spoke.
"Mom… I'm pregnant too."
The room fell deathly silent.
Tristan froze.
He was just about to say something when my sister's choked sob broke the silence.
"Audrey, how could you even make something like that up? I'm sorry. Is that enough? I don't blame you for pushing me. Please, stop fighting with Mom and Dad. I'll apologize to you."
She sobbed so hard she could barely catch her breath.
Then she pretended to get out of bed and bow to me.
Tristan immediately pushed her back down.
"Audrey, apologize."
His face darkened.
His voice was colder and harsher than I'd ever heard it.
There was no room for argument.
At that moment, even trying to explain myself felt pointless.
"Don't blame Audrey. It's all my fault."
Elena's sobs echoed through the hospital room.
"I broke the vase. I killed Daisy. I pushed Audrey. It was all me. Wah…"
The more Elena apologized, the angrier my mother became.
She pointed at me and screamed,
"Audrey! If you won't apologize, get out! Get out of this house! Our family has no daughter like you!"
A wave of cramping pain rolled through my lower abdomen.
My voice trembled as I forced the words out.
"I did nothing wrong. If anyone owes an apology, it's Elena and Tristan."
Just then, Elena let out a pained whimper.
"Tristan… my stomach hurts."
Tristan immediately panicked.
He hurried to support her and pressed the call button.
My mother rushed over and shoved me toward the door.
Her palm struck my back again and again.
"Get out! Our family has no daughter like you! Go wherever you want. From now on, you're on your own!"
I was forced out of the room.
The cold night air hit me the moment I stepped outside.
A dull ache pulsed through my lower abdomen.
I hailed a cab.
The driver glanced back at me.
"Where to?"
I opened my mouth, but for a long time, no answer came.
The cramps were coming faster now.
I curled up in the back seat, cold sweat soaking through my clothes.
"Take me to a hospital."
My teeth were clenched as I forced the words out.
"The nearest one."
After that, everything went black.
End of Audrey's POV.
