Assisting me out of the dungeon passageways, Kyan and I met Mary and Laria waiting upon our arrival.
“Hey Van, you good?” Asked Mary, I passed her a warm smile.
“We saw Kendrick and some warriors. How did it go?” Mary asked shifting to my side and taking over from Kyan.
“He confessed, but not the entire truth. We had to cut the interrogation short, Vanessa needs her rest.” Kyan beat me to a reply, his plain words spoke of the unshared details he chose to restrict.
“Are you alright?” A concerned Laria stepped forward, her brows contoured in a worried furrow. “I think you need to rest.”
“Thank you Laria, but I am fit and fine.” I contoured, standing upright, a slight pang accompanied my attempt to prove myself, my face concealing a scrunch.
