A loud honk jolted me awake, and I noticed Kyan stirring beside me. My heart pounded in my chest as I sat up, fear gripping me. Has Eric found us?
“Do you think he found us?” I whispered, trying to steady my voice as I glanced out the small window. The view offered no clues, just an empty stretch of road.
