VANESSA
As soon as I saw the guards marching in, my heart dropped. Panic gripped me. There was no way out of this, no place to hide.
“Seize her!” the man I recognized from earlier shouted. I barely had time to think before three guards lunged at me. The energy inside me surged, and without warning, it exploded from my hands. The force sent the men flying in different directions, their screams filling the air as their faces erupted in flames.
Goddess, what's happening?
I didn’t understand what was happening. I never did when the energy took over. It acted on its own like it had a mind of its own, and it terrified me. I knew using these powers against humans was a mistake. I couldn’t afford to expose myself and the entire Werewolf clan. Not like this.
