Chapter 9: The Handler

"You're finally here, I've been waiting for you to arrive", the man said. He stares at us all with clear eyes." You all know what I don't and you need to tell me", he says with a warm voice. He gets off his seat." We're still by the elevator doors", I said." You just ruined the whole thing", he said in frustration. This time we walked to him, our steps loud as we closed the distance. "You're finally here, I've...", he said. " Can we get on with this? It's not like we have all the time in the world", Ava interrupts him. "Carlos says otherwise", the man points to the left. "Carlos is a horse", Emily says. "Carlos is a horse yes", he responds.

He introduces himself as a mafia boss, I mean The Handler. " I see that my trusty agent has sent you safely", he said as he lowered his glasses. "You want something, don't you?", Ava says with no hesitation. "I see you're the brightest one of the bunch", he says with a slight smirk. "I swear I will burn Carlos and this whole place to the ground", Ryan says. (Between you and me I'm the brightest... right?)

He asked us to follow him as he opened the door. I followed along seeing that we wouldn't get the answers we're looking for. I don't know what was on my friend's thoughts but it must be a bit in panic. Emily: Uhhh, I'm so hungry. I miss the food at home. Ryan: I miss my PC. I was supposed to be playing with my online friend. I hope he doesn't mind.

Ava: books books and more books.

CJ: Poor Nova. She probably misses me.

"You know, I want to be a farmer when I get old and retire", the man said. "Would you look at that, it's the bus of people WHO NEVER ASKED", I said. We reach a room with a highly secured door. He leaned over as it scanned his eye. A click followed and the door opened. "Welcome to my humble abode", he said. It was like a whole new world. People moving up and down. Some look like scientists. Others like technicians and software developers. "What is this place...who are you?", Ava asked as a grin formed. "My assistant will tell you all you need to know", he said. A woman was speed walking her way toward us. Holding two plastic cups of coffee. "Your coffee sir", she said. The man left as the assistant introduced herself. "I'm Gabby and I'm here to help you into becoming our little agents", she said.
