Blown away

Two months since I have been away from home and the only thing I'm missing right now if my mother cooking, after having her cook for me for two weeks, I didn't realise how much I took her for granted as rashing are not the best. It hasn't been the worse two months either, but the weather is a different story, I have sweated more then I have pissed, I definitely ain't the weather friend right now. Standing at the edge of a road looking down at all the fallen house, I can't believe a earthquake did all this damage it has completely knocked them down, I know they was really stable in the first place like at home but leaving them without a roof is bad enough. The boys have built a couple of shelters in a safe zone, I have helped them when I had a little spare time but being at the medical tent helping and then helping Kenya army learning I haven't really had time. Walking back to the medical tent I notice a car in the middle of the road, I haven't seen many cars round here as the road has been blocked by a fallen tree, we are having trouble bring more supplies and they are working on moving the tree. They couldn't of move the tree already. Walking slowly to the car I can hear a slight beeping going off fast  "Laura you have a...." Before Antonio could finish his sentence I am thrown into the air and backwards, the car was a bomb I'm sure it was a plan to take out the medical tent but I guess that didn't work instead you took out a medic. Opening my eyes I can barely hear anything around me and my vision in burry  "Laura you ok?" I think the man in front of me is mouthing but I can't be sure  Connor pov  Hearing a bomb go off not too far from us, we all pick out guns up and head to the point of explosion not aware how serious the damage is. Running side by side we are not the only ones running, the Kenya army are running as well. Reaching the point I look at the car that's on fire that i completely missed Laura on the floor with doctor Antonio kneeling over her, she must of been close to the impact "Laura, is she ok?" I shout running over to the both of them, hoping that it's not serious as I can't put up with the boys alone without her, she's my anchor when we are away and have always been. Kneeling down while the boys keep watch for anything else out of place  "She's fine, probably just a mid concussion. Doesn't look like she was too close when it exploded" I'm relief to hear that but guessing Laura reaction her hearing is still a little off, I bet her ears are ringing.  "f*****g hell I definitely felt that" I hear Laura say with a pissed off look, I'm not surprised she felt that as she probably got thrown a fair bite as she's like a little feather, as I start laughing the lieutenant pulls up with a relief look on his face, I know how much he appreciate Laura for doing what she does. He can be a man of a few words but he does one hell of a job ordering us around.  Climbing back to my feet I help Laura back to her feet with Antonio help, Laura feels fine but by the look on her face she's definitely still feeling that impact, she's lucky to have that much armer surrounding her or some of the car would of been in her. Walking back I let out a sign on relief as I don't know how one of us would handle losing a member off our platoon especially with us all being close. Getting back to work we are all on the look out for anything out of place after the first bomb, I know they be planning on another attack with the first one failing, I just hope they don't take anyone down.
