Final weekend

Driving over to my parents I take the long way round wanting to do a little thinking off my own. Pulling up to my parents how I walk in and look for my family who's sat outside having a little barbecue, I always try my hardest to spend my last weekend with the family and so do they by trying to make it one to remember. Walking up behind everyone I take a seat in between my mother and father who tense up but relax when they know it's me, they put a arm round me 

"What we got planned then?" I ask as there always something they have planned but they don't answer straight away so I look at Aaron who's surprisingly is alone, where's Ryan 

"Water fight" I hear being screamed behind me, someone has thrown a water ballon at me and my guess it was Ryan with Aaron laughing like a moron, I get thrown a water g*n and I start heading towards Aaron I'm ready to soak him. While I'm getting soaked mother brings more water balloons out followed by the rest of the men, I definitely didn't expect that. I quickly hid behind Aaron and Ryan

"Come on Laura, we will play nice" I hear Connor say laughing I quickly check my water g*n before whispering to Aaron and Ryan

"Us three versus them six" I whisper while they are nodding and before I know it everyone is spraying there guns at each other getting soaked. 

Instead of waiting to get dry I head to get changed but I fall over a massive bag, looking around I find six army bags packed and ready to go, I look confused 

"They are staying for the weekend, you all need a relaxing weekend before heading out" I slowly nod my head, I appreciate mother for doing this. We don't have to spend our last weekend together but I guess this is our platoon we are like a tight family probably why we are only of the highest ranked platoon. Hurrying up to get changed I head back to the garden ready for the food. Running back outside I about trip on a mini Connor,  I didn't realise his child was here, where was she when we was having a water fight, I pick Emily up and place her on my knees as I take a seat 

"How was everyone weeks" Shaun asks taking a slip of his beer, and one by one tell us about there two week leave, I can already tell everyone excited to hear about mine

"I hear Laura being getting down and naughty, is that still going with Mr hottie?" I hear Riley say laughing but I roll my eyes at them, they always make jokes about my s*x life 

"Your lacking in that department so you want to hear about me?" I ask smirking as he rolls his eyes at me but before I get chance to respond dad places two plates on the table containing food and everyone rushes in to get a burger, I really do love my father cooking. 

Relaxing after the barbecue outside with Connor, everyone else has gone inside to watch the football game with my dad and brothers. I don't think we have enough room on the sofa for all the men but I bet they find some

"You ready to head back" I hear Connor ask and thinking about it apart of me is but there's a part of me that wants to stay with everyone but my county need me just as much

"I'm ready, are you?" I ask back but Connor hesitate for a second, I know he miss his family but they are proud of him for serving his county and will be cheering him on 

"Yes. Let's change the topic. I want to hear about you and this man" I start laughing as everyone wants to know but I'm more afraid of him running the other way when he learns what I really do as my last boyfriend ended it when I first served 

"It's good, I like him but my job. I haven't told him and a part of me doesn't want to" I say looking at the stars, I just wish you life was a little simpler but it never be 

"I know it's hard but you have someone to come home to after a long tour" hearing Connor talk about everything the pro and cons I decide to text him but not telling him, instead telling him I'm going away for a short time but I'll do it once I know how long I'll be gone for. I really hope he understands but what are the chances he doesn't. Heading inside I manage to watch the last ten minutes of the game before we all head to bed. I have my own room with Aaron and Ryan sharing and the boys in Ryan room and spare. It's good to be all under one roof spending time together.

Waking up to my last free day I head to the kitchen to help mum cook breakfast for everyone, I'm shocked they are still asleep when the smell of breakfast is smelling like it is. Finishing up im first one to grab an omelette and some cut up fruit before the boys take it all

"What's your plans today" I hear mother ask taking a plate for herself as she knows just as much as I do that the boys will eat everything 

"Chilling, we head back early tomorrow so we probably relax" I say taking a mouth full of melon in my mouth and on time the boys come walking though the door one by one 

"Help yourself boys" mother shouts as the boys eye the food up, she doesn't spoil us no wonder all the boys enjoy coming here. Finishing my food I head to the kitchen to put my plate in the dishwasher. While the boys eat I head to the bathroom for a shower as I know the boys will be lining up once they finished for one and we only have one shower room. Letting the warm water run down my body, I think about being deployed again helping the people with medical treatment or teaching them about new ways to treat someone. I have always loved to teach the less fortunate as they are as fortunate as we are in our supplies and men. I have always love to help people and now I do, I couldn't be happier to have a job I love.
