Chapter 4 - A Night

Anne can't help but stares at him. Xian is handsome and could be any girl's dream.

"Oh Anne, what are you thinking! Stop it, please, before it gets worse. Think of Erwan, the man of your dream." she whispered to herself, feeling guilty about what she was thinking a while ago.

On the other hand, she did not notice that the guy was also looking at her secretly. He was amazed at how beautiful Anne was. Too bad that she's in a relationship. Anne could have been any guy's dream. Xian looks at Anne from head to toe. As if she was perfectly made. Her long brown dyed hair, pore-less face, nice lips, tantalizing eyes, fair skin, and sexy body.

"How I wish she could be mine... I like her. I love her." he whispered to himself while his eyes get stuck to Anne's figure.

It was indeed a long day, and finally, work is over. Anne fixes her table and shuts down her computer. She keeps her notes on the side of the table and put stickies’ on her computer for all the reminder she has to do the next day. It's the same as what the guy did. He cleaned his workspace and reminded Anne about their dinner. Anne went to the toilet to touch up and refreshed. She then went back to her table and picked up her purse.

"Are you ready?" the guy asked.

"Yup!" she said.

"Okay, then let's go," he said. He guided Anne towards the office door and open it for her.

"Thanks!" Anne told him.

He just smiled back and looked straight into her eyes. She felt weird and quite aroused by the look that he throws her. Anne told Erwan that he would have dinner with him and Erwan was okay with it. He won't join her for dinner anyway, so it was okay for her officemate to accompany her. She was happy about having an understandable boyfriend. They headed to the restaurant using his car. He was a gentleman as he opened the car door for her.

He even holds her head to avoid getting bumped. She sat beside him. She felt a bit awkward. She's felt some current flows over her body from the time he holds his head and assisted him to sit beside him.

"Anne, please... Stop those thoughts of yours. Erwan, let you have dinner with him, and trust you. Don't think of doing anything bad." she told herself while she looks at the road.

They both arrived in front of the restaurant. Anne was amazed at how the interior decorator designed the place. It has a nice ambiance suited for - what? Couples?! Yes. Everyone inside the restaurant was a couple. Well, they look like couples. They look good together, but Anne is taken and in a relationship.

They walk inside the restaurant and look for a seat. One of the crew approached them and guided them to a seat for two. It was a charming and romantic place. Though it's a bit awkward as the restaurant was design for couples and kissing is just normal.

When they look around, most of the couples were kissing. Anne was like, where on earth she was? The more she looks around, the more she felt someone tickling her inside. She headed to the table reserved for them. As they sat down on the sofa-styled seat, the waiter went straight to them and gave them the menu.

"Ma'am, Sir, would you like to order some wine? We have the best seller one that you will surely love." the waiter said with conviction. The guy looks at her waiting for her approval if they're going to order some wine or not.

"Sure! A bottle of wine, please..." Anne nodded and replied.

"Okay, Ma'am, a bottle of wine right away!" replied the energetic waiter.

They also ordered steak and some toast garlic bread. Anne don't feel like eating rice, so she ordered those paired with wine while the guy ordered steak and pasta. Anne loves the place and enjoys a nice view.

This restaurant is unique in terms of its ambiance and decorations. Anne is quite a fan of nice restaurants. And she didn't know that he was fond of visiting nice restaurants too. She was amazed at how beautifully and artistically served the food to them.

"Wow! It's nice. And the taste is good." she excitedly said as she chews the steak and sips some wine.

"I'm glad you like it. That's why when I saw this opened, I immediately decided to try it here." Xian proudly said.

"So you have been here? Alone?" she asked, wondering if he really did.

"Actually, yeah... It was a bit awkward, but it looks so nice here, so I can't help but try. I wasn't able to enjoy the food well because they were looking at me. So that's why we're here now." he replied, a bit shy.

"Oh, I see. Well, thanks for bringing me here," Anne replied while smiling.

"I'd love to. It's been a while since we became office mates, and I only bought you food at the office, so I thought I could ask you out for dinner," he said, taking the chance of telling his feelings for her.

"Well, thank you! Appreciate it." she plainly replied as she felt a bit awkward how he looks at her at that moment.

After finishing their food, Anne felt a bit drunk. She didn't notice that they empty the bottle of wine. She was so full so as the guy. He was a bit drunk and checked on the bottle of wine. To his surprise, the alcohol content was seven percent which is quite high. Although they're tipsy, they decided to go home.

"I'm on my way home, Babe." she read her message before sending it to Ewan. She sent a message to Erwan to tell him that she is heading home now.

"I'm so sorry, Babe. I'm still here at the office. I'll be late." Erwan said as he cannot come today to her house. Erwan is not done yet with work and will just visit tomorrow at her house. She pouted her lips as she read Erwan's message.

She couldn't do anything but go home and sleep since Erwan is not coming. They manage to go out of the restaurant while he was holding her arms. He wanted to make sure that Anne won't fall. He held her tight in her waist. And when they arrived at the parking lot, Xian immediately helps her walk to the car. He also helps her get inside the car at the passenger seat beside him. Xian then drove her home and couldn't help to stare at her while driving.

"She's so pretty ever since," Xian told himself. He shook his head as he needs to focus on driving. They both arrived home safely. He tried to wake her up because she fell asleep in the car, but she seems to be sleeping.

"Anne, we're here," he whispered in her ear while staring at her smooth face. He slowly shook her, and she managed to wake up.

"We're here," he said again. He helps Anne get out of the car and manages to go to the gate. However, she couldn't find her keys. He then helps her carry her purse as Anne was still a bit drunk and helps her get the house key inside her purse to open the door. As he opened the door, she asked him to stay for a bit and rest before driving home.

"Come in for a bit and rest." she offered. She doesn't know why her initial reaction is to let Xian rest, maybe because it's a long drive.

"Do you want some coffee?" she said as she offered him a drink which he accepted.

"Sure. Please." Xian nodded.

"Okay. Wait here for a bit," Anne said. She asked him to sit down on the sofa while she went to the kitchen to get the coffee.

While making coffee, she can't help but look at the guy on the sofa. She looks at him from head to toe as if he was a goddess.

Her eyes got locked on his chest, and look like she wanted to touch it. She doesn't know why she felt that way though she's already in a relationship. She has Erwan, and She loves him. Although she thought of the fact that she has a boyfriend, she can't help it.

"He looks so gorgeous," she told herself while putting sugar in the coffee.

She went back to the living room and handed him over the coffee. Xian looks at her and gets the coffee from her hands. When he took the coffee, suddenly, his hands touch hers. Anne felt the current flows inside her body as if Xian held her entire body and loved the feeling. Anne felt like she's in the clouds and almost lost her senses until he talks.

"Thanks for the coffee," he said while accidentally touches her hand, which he was about to get the cup of coffee. It seems like she lost her senses and look back at him. As he sips his coffee, he looks at Anne, who was looking at him since earlier.

Anne doesn't know that he knows she's been staring at him. He also stared at her, and she felt the warmth of his hand as he touches her hand. She felt that he wrapped his hands towards her waist.

Without a word, they both didn't notice that they were hugging each other. Xian then wrapped his hands around her neck, and she also wrapped her arms around his neck. He kissed her smoothly, and she felt his soft lips.

Anne shivered with excitement and fear as she loves how he caressed her but fears that she's already cheating on Erwan. In the back of her mind says this was wrong, but it was so tempting. She couldn't stop herself.

"He tastes so sweet," she told herself while she continuously kissed him. Xian likes her every kiss. He loves it.

"She's a good kisser." he felt that Anne likes him too. He never knew that it would happen. He gazed at her, and it was like she was getting commanded to remove his shirt.

She raised her hand and pulled his shirt slowly. She heard him groan, and the heat of pleasure run throughout her body. She didn't notice that he was slowly undressing her too. She did not refuse. They were both naked, and it seems like each other loves what they see. Then two become one.

They both did what they were not supposed to do. Xian kissed her all over her body, and she likes the feeling. Anne felt tickled in her skin. Xian kissed her deeply until she felt that his lips get numb. He gave Anne an intense kiss.

Intense. That made Anne more aroused, and she felt something tickling her. And then they both found each other catching each other’s breath.

"I love you!" he said as he holds her chin and kissed her smoothly again. She seemed to lost her senses as she just nodded at him and kissed back to him, wrapping her arms around him. They both feel like they were in heaven, as if both of them were newlyweds while they were both tired and catching their breath.

She leans on his chest, and he combs her hair using his hands. He thought if this was the right timing to confess. He thought that since she gave herself to him, she felt the same. So he decided to confess.

"I love you, and I always will. Just come with me and forget Erwan," he told Anne while slowly combing her hair.

"No! I can't! I like you but will never love you. It's just a mistake." she seemed to be back in her senses as she replied. She immediately stood up and took her clothes, and get dressed. He was so disappointed with what he has heard. He immediately gets dressed and leaves without a word. He hurriedly headed to his car and drove back home. Anne cried, sitting on the sofa thinking about Erwan.

"He doesn't deserve me. Erwan doesn't deserve to have a girlfriend like me," she whispered. She's a cheater, she told herself. She cheated on him. She can't believe she did it. She then decided to drink more. She headed to the fridge to get all the beer inside.

Erwan stuff beer inside her fridge, so just if they want to have a drink, they will only get from there, and there is no need to go outside. She was so depressed. She warned herself not to do any stupid things, but now she did. She brought the beer into her room and drank alone. She has no work tomorrow anyway.

While Anne drinks from her home, he also drinks from his house. He went to the convenience store and bought some beer and bring those home. He wants to forget what has just happened.

He wants to forget what she has said. He has been thinking about confessing for a while, then suddenly that's what happened. He was so angry at himself, and he felt like he's nothing. Upon arriving at his house, he immediately went inside with his beer and took a shower.

He wants to get refreshed after what happened. He immediately gets dressed upon taking a shower. He brings his stuff to his room and drinks. It was around four o'clock when he finished his drinks. All the cans were empty.

"Yes... It was just a mistake. No feelings at all." Those were the last words he said before he fell asleep.

Erwan had no idea at all about what happened. The next day that he promised to visit Anne did not happen at all. He had an emergency business trip that he needs to leave on weekends to arrive on Monday. She texted Anne that morning, but she wasn't able to reply. She was in her deep sleep because of drinking too much last night. She even did not realize that she was not able to clean the mess in the living room.   

Just a mistake.

Xian wasn't able to sleep well and woke up at seven o'clock to prepare breakfast. Xian was used to making his breakfast. Since when was the last time that someone cooked for him? Well, it was before his ex-girlfriend left him. His ex-girlfriend used to visit him every morning before, to cook for him before going to work, but he cooked for himself when they separated. It was a simple life for him when she left, but when he met Anne, her life became meaningful.

All along, he thought that Anne likes him. She was just attached to his boyfriend, that's why she can't show her feelings towards him. But he was wrong. Despite what had happened, she was not even attracted to him, not even an inch. It was all a mistake. Anne woke up having a headache. She went to the kitchen and made a black coffee to relieve herself. She looked at the wall clock and saw the time. It is noon. She slept so long that adds up to her headache. She went back to her room to check on her phone—one message from Erwan.

"I'm still lucky..." she told herself, thinking that Erwan did not see the mess in the living room as all the cans of beer were scattered, and she wasn't able to take a shower. She smells bad. He's also not used to her waking up so late. She rushed to the living room and cleaned up all the mess. After cleaning up, it looks like nothing had happened. She took a shower then decided to go to the market to do some grocery shopping.

She will cook for her dinner and stay at home all day while doing her laundry. And tomorrow, she will do some work out to prepare for going back to work. That was the last time that she saw him. He resigned from his job. She doesn't know what happened to him when she came back from work. All she knows is the left. Her boss never discussed with her what was the reason he resigned. Erwan also never knew what had happened.

"I don't dare to tell him, but why do I feel this kind of feeling? I feel like my love for him is getting smaller. Why do I think of that guy when we make out and not Erwan? Why do I see him from my dreams? It seems like a nightmare of my past." she told herself while staring at the mirror.

"Oh Anne, please stop thinking of him and forget about it. It's either you tell him now or never," she said while she prepares for their dinner date with Erwan.

It's been a while since they haven't go out for a date. All Anne remembered is the last dinner date with the guy from the past. The past that she wants to forget. The past is hunting her. It's been a year since that happened, and it keeps on coming back. How she wishes she never did what she has done.

But every time Erwan and her were in bed, all she sees is the guy's face from the past. Being tied up in the past is so frustrating. But what can she do? It's haunting her. Only that guy and Erwan were the relationship she had. Nothing more. However, that guy was not a relationship but a mistake.

She puts on her sexy peach dress that fits in her body and puts on some color on her face. She wants to make herself gorgeous in front of Erwan tonight. It should be the best night tonight because it's been a while.
