Someone is shouting at me.
"You weren't there." My voice is barely above a whisper, yet still it echoes in the darkness until the words are ignited by the flames of the campfire. “You weren’t there.”
"Jenny Lynn, focus!"
Someone is shaking me, hands on both of my shoulders. It must be Eric. Those are hands that I don't ever flinch away from. He and the firelight are disturbing my nightmare and bringing me back from the past.
