I don’t fail in my attempt to get Eric out of the cabin for a run. However, I do fail in my attempts to get out of going with him. I truly hate running. I do my best to appear energetic and unphased, but I know Eric has to slow down to maintain a pace I am capable of. My body is past sore now, it is stiff, a cold sweat hardening my joints and settling into my bones.
When we arrive back home - I mean, to the cabin - it’s time for another reheated dinner from Ma. God, I think I love that woman, too. If her pot roast and pork chops were delicious, then her chili and sweet yellow cornbread are out-of-this-world indescribable.
