ANNIKA'S POV Holding two bags of groceries in my hand, I slowly walked inside our little home. I saw my mother sitting on the couch, on the front porch of the house. Beside her was Cathy, her private nurse. I put the groceries down the table, and smiled at her. Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing me, but she smiled back at me and welcomed me in her arms. I immediately hugged her tight. “I missed you, Mom. How are you?” I whispered, kissing her on the cheek. “I’m fine. Why are you here? You didn't tell me you were coming here today. Did something happen?” she asked worriedly. I shook my head, and smiled wider. “Mom! What makes you think that way?” I held my chest, acting as if I was jokingly hurt. “What now? Am I not allowed to visit you just because I miss you so much?” I aske
