Maya groaned as the shrill sound of her alarm invaded the peaceful realm of sleep. Groggily, she fumbled for the snooze button, desperately attempting to hold onto the last few moments of rest. Her bleary eyes squinted at the digital clock, confirming what she already knew – it was morning.

"I hate mornings," Maya muttered to herself, Rolling over, she reluctantly swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet meeting the cold floor. Dragging herself to the bathroom, Maya stared at her reflection in the mirror. Sleep had etched faint lines under her eyes, and her disheveled hair told the tale of a night spent tossing and turning. Pulling out her phone, Maya checked messages and emails, attempting to get a head start on the day's tasks after reaching work area Maya navigated her scooty into the designated parking area, the rumble of the engine subsiding as she cut the ignition. She deftly swung her leg over the seat, securing her helmet and checking for any stray locks of hair that might have escaped.
