Chapter 3

240 Words
During the final days, Eve found solace and affection in her stay at the Blue Moon pack. She developed a close training bond with Karen, who struggled to hold her ground in their sparring sessions. "You need to become stronger," Eve advised, prompting Karen to smile and lower her defensive stance. "I'm a healer, for crying out loud. Why would I need combat skills?" Karen retorted, causing Eve to roll her eyes. "Obviously... you could still be attacked," Eve responded, to which Karen laughed. Karen swiftly tapped her foot on the floor, propelling herself toward Eve with remarkable speed. However, upon reaching Eve, she was forcefully repelled by a gust of wind. "Ouch... you cheated," Karen complained. "Well, you could have at least warned me about your approach," Eve replied. "How will I ever win?" Karen wondered aloud, while Eve chuckled. "Well, that's a new technique. How did you do that?" Eve inquired. "I simply focused my strength on my foot," Karen explained, and immediately Eve stood before her. "Simple," Eve remarked, coming to a stop. "Thanks for letting me know," she added. Soon, Ruth joined them, and this time Eve found herself outmatched by someone stronger. "You can do better, Eve," Ruth encouraged, prompting Eve to smile as she rose from the ground. "I know. Just wait until I reach my peak," Eve declared. "I think I'm done for now. I want to go for a run," she added.
