Chapter 11. I watched Clara from where I stood, her lips pressed tightly like she was trying to annoy me. It's been thirty minutes since the first round and she hasn't said more than a word to me. I could tell she was doing this to piss me off or worst still, make me hate her. But damn it! Because it felt too cute. I can't stay mad at her. Even if she wanted it. I know myself. I know Maxwell. I wasn't a man who went out of my way for women. But there is something about Clara that is unmatched. Maybe it's the way she holds herself together. Maybe it's in the way she carries pain and shields it from the watchful eyes. If I do not want her, I wouldn't go to her store. I wouldn't buy jewelry worth millions just to have her here. I have never had the patience for that kind of thing. N
