Tru's POV:
**SNAP**
I jerked awake to the startling sound. I grabbed the sword beside the bed, and headed towards the sound, where I find Nalie. Halfway out of my living room window.
"You don't have to sneak out. You could always just go through the front door." I smirked.
"Oh shut up, I was just going for a more subtle approach." she shrugged.
"Sure Nalie, whatever you say." I burst out laughing. Her red hair blew in the breeze, and her deep blue eyes flashed black. "Woah there tiger, just messing with you. The least you could do after sleeping with me is giving me a kiss goodbye." I teased.
"Goodbye? What makes you think I won't be back Tru?" She teased back.
Nalie was a sweet girl, and she was good in the sheets too, but as a Merhalle soldier, I must never fall in love. It's easier than you think. Being trained since birth really has it's perks. I know how to keep my guard up around women. Sure, I can have my fun, but having a family some day just isn't what I picture when I look into my future. I plan on becoming the chosen one some day. The top of the Merhalle army. I want to be known as the strongest, most fierce warrior the Merhalle people ever knew, and no woman is going to get in the way of that. Nalie left, as she always does, and she'll be back sooner or later.
The sun was coming up, I jumped in the shower and got ready for morning meeting with the Queen. I preferred to work during the night, but Queen Temala felt different, and you don't argue with the Queen. I accepted my placement and I stay true to it daily. I pulled my shorts on, leaving my upper body exposed. The scars on my chest and arms reminded me of battles we have won. My mark reminds me of my position in this world, and I am grateful for it. Merhalle soldiers are born with a mark, destined from the womb to protect the tribe, and we take it very seriously. I pulled a tee on, and jogged to headquarters.
I was five when the war began. I wasn't quite old enough to understand what was going on, but I knew, humans couldn't be trusted. They make you weak, and then attack when you're at your weakest. That's why we had to retreat here, a deserted island, in the middle of the ocean. It would take years for the humans to be able to travel here, and if they did, we'd be ready. We've built our population back up, and the ancestors have provided many more soldiers. We're more than able to protect the tribe this time around. They wouldn't even know what hit them.
I climbed the stairs to the headquaters part of the castle. Many soldiers made their way to the meeting area, as I made my way to the queen. I and one other, were to escort her to the meeting area, and back to her room whenever the meeting was over. Queen Temala seemed restless today. She paced the floors of her room, and didn't seem to notice our arrival.
*Knock knock*
"My queen, the Merhalle meeting is this morning, will you be joining us?" I asked.
"Yes, my dear, just a moment and I'll be there." She replied.
I nodded my head and shut her door behind me. Standing on either side of the door, Hebo and I waited for the Queen to prepare. Silence filled the air as Queen Temala presented herself. She looked at me, and then at Hebo. She nodded silently and walked towards the meeting area. We followed closely behind her, silently. As we entered the meeting area, everyone stood. The queen took a bow and took a seat at the front of the room. We all sat, patiently waiting for the queen to begin. It must be something serious. I've never seen her this concerned. It worried me.
"Today, is different. Today, begins a new chapter, a new beginning." The queen began. "Eighteen years ago, a war began. Today, I'm here to tell you, that according to ancient prophecy, a beacon of hope, and peace will come forth. Among you, is the chosen one. The chosen one will know where and what this beacon is. He or she will feel drawn towards it, and must go forth to retrieve it, and bring it here to me. This quest is of upmost importance. You cannot fail. The future of our tribe depends on you all. Good luck."
We all sat in shock, confused as to what this all meant. The queen exited the room, and whispering started. Our general took a stand.
"If any one of you believe that you may be the chosen one, report to me immediately. No one's knows the time or day that you will know. All we know is it will be soon. Now, report to your daily duties." General stated.
We all piled out of the meeting area. It was time to do a perimeter check around the island. Plus, swimming helps me think. I walked towards the cliffs, my favorite place to dive. It was a beautiful day today. The sun was shining, a slight breeze was blowing, slightly cooling off the sun's heat. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Nalie waving to me, but I pretend not to notice. I start jogging towards the cliffs edge, and then sprint until my feet find no ground. I sail through the air, bracing myself to hit the water. The wind blows in my ears, and I'm suddenly engulfed by the sea. A familiar tingle begins as I sprout my golden tail, to match my eyes, as my mother says. I let myself sink for a moment, taking in the wonderful feeling of the ocean water surrounding me. Watching the fish accept me, and swim along side of me as we swim around the island. Watching for sharks and anything worrisome. It's quiet as usual. I'll finish my duties, and head back home at sunset.
Coming home after a long day is always refreshing. I dust the sand off my feet at the front door and walk in. Nalie greets me with a kiss, and continues to cook dinner for us. I eat dinner in silence, too busy to notice Nalie studying me from across the table. After dinner, I help Nalie clean up, and I hop in the shower to wash off the day. Deep in thought.
"Who's going to be the chosen one? What's the beacon? What does it look like? How will we know?"
"You okay?" Nalie questioned.
I didn't even notice her come in the bathroom. She stripped her clothes, exposing her petite body. Her full breast and her thick bottom. Her red hair fell over her breast, but failed to hide her excitement. Realizing I was staring she smiled and pulled the clear shower curtain back, stepping inside with me. Her breast pressed against my muscular body, seemingly exciting her even more. She loved to run her fingers over my pecs and down my abs. The height difference brought her head level to my chest. She nibbled on my arms, making her way up my neck, and finally landing her lips on mine. She pulled me close, stroking me with one hand, and running the other through my thick blonde hair. I pushed her back and turned her to face the wall. Placing my fingers between her legs, exploring her wetness. She moaned in delight. She arched her back just a little, begging me to go inside of her. So I did. I placed one hand on her hip, and one on her shoulder, and I thrust myself into her. All of my worries, and all of my thoughts, would have to wait until tomorrow.
