That day Kenneth was taught by Melody and Selena about what he had to do as a CEO in this company. Kenneth was also told about several ongoing projects that he had to complete well during his time as CEO.

And Kenneth realized that if he wanted to prove his worthiness, he had to complete this project well. Kenneth also looked at the data from the file provided by Melody, and he could see that this matter was not as easy as he thought.

“I just want to remind you, but you have to be careful from now on,” Melody said suddenly while glancing around.

“What do you mean?” Kenneth raised one eyebrow in confusion, not understanding what Melody meant.

“You know that there are many people who don't like you being in this position, right?” Melody glanced at Kenneth and Selena in turn.

Kenneth cleared his throat slowly before answering Melody’s words, “Not really, but I’ve heard his name,” Kenneth replied casually.

Selena and Melody, who were sitting on the sofa, immediately stood up when they saw the person who rudely entered. Selena almost scolded the man if she hadn’t been held back by Melody, who whispered to her.

“He’s Ethan Clinton. Mr. Kenneth will get into trouble if we deal with him,” Melody whispered while holding Selena’s arm.

It was because of Melody’s words that Selena chose not to make trouble with Ethan; although she had no problem making a fuss with that person, it was just that she didn’t want to add to Kenneth’s issues.

Meanwhile, Kenneth, who was sitting in his chair, only grinned when he saw who the person who barged into his room was.

“It turns out it was you. At first I didn't believe it when Ramona said that you had become CEO replacing Jack,” Ethan said with a smirk on his face, looking interested in the current situation.

“So, what brings you here? I'm sure you didn't just come here to see me, right?” Kenneth was still calm and looked straight at Ethan.

Ethan chuckled softly when he heard Kenneth’s words, “Of course I came here to see you, or you can say that for now. Next time I come, it won't necessarily be just like this,” Ethan said with a smile on his face.

Kenneth’s face slowly turned serious as he knew that Ethan was threatening him at the moment. He just stayed silent as he watched Ethan glance at Melody and Selena, then waltzed out of his room without doing anything else.

“I didn't expect him to come here so soon,” Kenneth said as he sighed softly.

“What are you going to do with her?” Selena walked towards Kenneth’s desk, curious about what Kenneth would do about Ethan’s threat.

“For now just observe his movements. It looks like Jack hasn’t said anything to Ethan,” Kenneth replied, starting to think about what he should do about Ethan; he was sure he wouldn’t let him live quietly.

Moreover, Kenneth knew that the one who told Ethan about him was Ramona. He was sure that without being told by Jack, Ethan would do anything to give him trouble. Ramona will also definitely not keep quiet after seeing Kenneth is now her boss.

Kenneth did not expect that this problem would be more complicated than he expected. From now on, Kenneth could not live with his old mindset; not only did he have to protect himself, but he also had to protect the people by his side.

“Melody, can you do something for me?” Kenneth also turned to Melody, who was still glued to her place; he called her several times before she realized he was calling her.

“Find out if the projects we'll be working on have anything to do with Ethan or Jack. I want the report submitted before the end of the day,” Kenneth explained later.

“Alright, I’ll find out soon.” Melody nodded her head and hurried out of Kenneth’s room to do her assignment.

After Melody left the room, Kenneth turned to Selena and looked at her thoughtfully.

“Can I trust you?” Kenneth asked while looking straight at Selena.

Selena was initially surprised to be asked like that by Kenneth, but she felt that there was a reason why Kenneth was asking her this.

“Yes, you can trust me. I can say that the only one you can trust in this company besides Mr. Robert is me,” Selena replied confidently.

Kenneth laughed softly when he heard Selena’s confident reply.

“Then I'll tell you one thing. From now on, we won't trust anyone other than each other. I'm sure that damn b***h has already started influencing other employees not to trust me.” Kenneth knew Ramona well. He knew she would do something about this situation.
