Chapter thirteen

“What?”

Selena scream out and Dylan cover his ears and take a step away from her, Dothad has just tell them the news about Shaina marriage to Mr. Fisher’s nephew and she can’t help the shock, at first she thought her dad was spewing some nonsense as usual.

But when he show them the prepared proposal for an investment with S.V, only then did she realize there might be some sense in the news.

“What do you mean Shaina is married?” Lara asked also in disbelief

“You all heard me right”

“Wait is it that man she claim to be married to?” Selena asked

“Are you sure this is not your daughter’s trick to…”

“Watch what you say Lara” Dothad warned his wife

“Vice President Fisher came to this house today and gave me his personal line” he said angrily to their face and calm down before uttering his next sentence

“he asked if we need anything and this is a perfect timing to have him invest in my company, you Selena will go to him tomorrow and prove your capability to him” he said in a final tone

Not giving the two women another chance to argue or give any nasty comments, he has been horrible enough not to check if really his daughter is in a safe hand and only thought of his company at first, he will not allow anyone of them to insult her anymore.

“I’ve never heard of any nephew of the Fishers” Dylan said after Mr. Dothad left angrily.

Selena look at him and ignore what he just said then turn to her mom for help, there is no way something like that happened.

“Do you know about this mom?”

“Of course not and I don’t believe your father, how can Shaina find a man in just few days and be married to him? How can my own daughter get married without my consent?” Lara said angrily and charge after her husband.

Selena look on confused not sure what to think or believe, this really can’t be true and if it is then it is a bad thing for her, how can such loser get married to that wealthy family? She’s the one with good fortune not Shaina.

“Dylan?” she called and turn to him

“Can you find out where that b***h is?”

“Well…I can”

“Good, find her for me, I want to confirm if this is some joke or not”

The room temperature was beginning to feel chilly again, Shaina rubs her shoulders and change the TV channel trying to find something else to watch but nothing seems to interest her neither the snacks on the table.

She raise her up and look around if she could see Samael but he’s nowhere again, can’t bear the cold, she try to find the temperature switch of the house

“Samael?” she called out eventually with the cold getting too much

“What is it?” the deep-toned voice sounded in her head and Shaina freeze

She felt someone staring behind her and turn back in a bit of shock to see him standing where she just left

“How did you get there?’ she asked curious, coming back to the living room

Samael look around the room ignoring the question she just asked and his face twist up in a big frown, the table is littered with different kind of snacks and there are crumbs on the sofa and the carpet tiles.

Shaina watch his expression and also turn her gaze to the spot he’s staring at, realizing he was looking at the mess she made on the floor, she rush to pick them up

“This is because you did not allow me go out” she said in her defense picking the nylons

“You…you human female!” he yelled in disbelief at what he is seeing.

He has always live a life of purity and detest uncleanliness but then this human female is audacious to cause a taint in his perfect thousand years of living

“What do you think you are doing?” he yelled angrily again

Shaina stare in a bit of shock not sure why he’s so upset, it’s just some crumbs and snacks nylon, she can just clean it up in minutes or maybe he’s the kind that hates dirt, the clean freak, the ones who have OCD or something of sort.

“”I’m sorry I will clean it up quick, it’s just a little…” Shaina said indifferent

“Never mind…” Samael cut her off and wave his hands in the air and the whole thing disappeared.

“Ugh!” Shaina hiccupped in shock

The stuffs in her hand, the things on the chair and table and even the crumps on the floor, everything just disappears right in front of her like it was never there.

Samael watch her strange attitude for few seconds not understanding why the human in front of him became frozen in matter of seconds, his eyes fall to where she was staring fix at and he realize what he just did.

He swift his hand again and everything appear back the same way they were, Shaina blink her eyes and end up hiccupping multiple times watching the miracle that just happened

“Did…do you see that?” she asked turning away her eyes away from the scene

“That…it just disappeared and reappeared again” she almost scream.

“You must be mistaken, it was here all along” Samael answered and try to walk away.

Shaina try to grab his hands but he move fast and avoid the contact with Shaina wondering again how swiftly he did that.

“Female, you are not allowed to touch me unless…”

“Female?” she asked irritated at the choose of name she’s being addressed with

“My name is Shaina so why do you keep calling me female! Female! That sounds a bit…”

“Cold” she burst out and wrap her arm around her body to keep warm.

Samael close his eyes and the temperature feels a bit warm but not enough to keep her body warm from all the cold it has intake.

“You human have a weak body and can’t endure this much”

“Of course we can’t, no normal human can’t take too much of cold except you…since you’re not human” she said

Samael’s face turned narrowed and a little fluster, did this human find out my identity? He wondered and try to read through her mind

“You keep saying human! Human! Human! Like you are not one that why I said that, I didn’t mean to offend you” she tried to apologize seeing his flustered expression.

Shaina watch him stay quiet staring back at her with an expression she can comprehend, he can’t be a petty person is he? She wonder

“It’s getting cold again” Shaina said cuddling her body together and rubs her shoulder to ease the cold

“What kind of messed up temperature is this? Why does it keep going on and off itself?” she asked angrily trying not to grit her teeth.

Samael watch the human in front of him look more miserable as the temperature goes lower and the room looks like it will be getting freeze in few seconds, he try to bring it down to a less cold temperature and when he sees she’s about to collapse, he flash through time and caught her just before she hits the floor.

Looks like her energy and his are opposites, it will be hard for them to live together then if she can’t endure this much coldness and if he can’t take a little warmness, one of them might end up in danger such as this.

Selena have a look at the signed papers and feel much angrier, could her sister be really married to some nephew like they said, but that should not really make S.V want to sign with them.

After all she has submitted many proposal to request to them to make an investment into her company and they refused each time but now, all of a sudden they lend her the money not even a small amount.

This can only be possible because of what her dad said, Shaina is really married to…or can it be…

Selena thought of another possibility and her face lit up in some mischief grin as she thinks of the possibility, why will Shaina have to get married secretly? Because she’s married to some unreal nephew of S.V owner or because she is actually married to the Vice President

Some kind of secret mistress whose identity can never be known and is under the pretense of married to a non-existing nephew, besides Shaina could do anything just to measure up to her and prove to their father she’s better.

“Oh my God!” Selena exclaimed enthralled at the fact she just discovered

“What is it?” Dylan asked

“I think we need to have a party, to celebrate this success and my sister’s marriage” she grinned

“Father said it’s a secret and we shouldn’t….”

“Darling, it’s just a celebration, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind and besides don’t want to know the kind of man Shaina got married to? How he looks like?”

Dylan thought for a minute and give in, he can’t win against her anyway and he’s also curious to know the man who wins Shaina’s heart in a matter of days.

“Do you locate her yet?”

“No, surprisingly, I just can’t find her, like she disappeared”

“Well she will be force to come out of her hiding soon” Selena said with a smirk.

Soon the Dothad’s house is full with different classes of people who came to offer their congratulations and also to see if they could make an investment in them.

Mr. Dothad smiles at the other big companies who are there to make an offer, it was pretty hard getting any of them to give them money before today but now, they all want to give their money without even asking

This is the reason why he needed S.V to make investment into his company, S.V must have trust his company enough to invest in it, that is what everyone will thinks and then begin to trust his company to offer huge amount of money.

“Mr. Dothad, this is beautiful”

“Thank you Mr. Lance, my daughter Selena put this together” he said proudly

Selena ask for the music to be pause for a moment and call everyone’s attention to herself, she hit the glass cu lightly with a spoon and make sure to have every single person in the room’s attention before speaking

“Thank you all for honoring the invitation on such short notice”

“I would like to make a toss to the two big things we are celebrating tonight”

she said and the people murmurs a little curious about what she has to say, Lara smiles at her daughter but Dothad could feel something is about to go wrong

“First we will make a toast to the success of Dothad’s company”

“And my sister, Shaina, who just got married to Mr. Fisher’s nephew”

Selena let out the bomb and the instant she did, the party room was thrown in a chaos, people murmurs loudly at the news revealed

No one has heard of Mr. Fisher having a nephew, if they have, then many would have tried getting their daughters married to him

“Let’s toast” Selena said with a big smile and raise her glass to the air

Everyone joined her and make a toast but then they all couldn’t contain their curiosity and ask what she meant by a nephew

“Mr. Fisher never had one, so what’s this news about Miss. Shaina being married to his nephew?”

“Is that why S.V invested in them? Because they are related now?”

“Miss. Shaina really isn’t here”

“Is that really why? I was curious to know why S.V would invest in a company like Dothad’s” another commented rudely.

Selena watch every one dying with curiosity to know more about this nephew and her sister, it’s a matter of hours before Shaina is force out to the public and the lie her father cooked up is revealed.
