21 Paulo Paulo can’t sleep, not when he doesn’t know what is happening to Shauna. He can’t try to contact her- not with the Dark Ones listening in. Lyra had brought him to a cave she had found on the mountain just across the plain. The roof of the cave arches above him about ten feet.
