The day had drained me. Work as usual was hectic, and normally, I would have stayed longer, but my thoughts kept circling back to Eric Damon and his claims of taking Bella back. So, I left earlier than usual. As the driver rolled the car up the long driveway of my house, I loosened my tie, my chest tightening.
