Choosing my path ,Applying to university in Lesotho

After receiving my matric rewrite results and earning a Diploma pass, I was filled with a mix of pride and uncertainty. The next step was clear: apply to university. But where? Lesotho has a handful of universities and colleges, each with its own focus and strengths. I knew I had to choose wisely.

I began by researching the universities in Lesotho. The National University of Lesotho (NUL) in Roma stood out. Established in 1945, NUL is the oldest and most prominent university in the country, offering a wide range of programs across faculties like Humanities, Education, Social Sciences, and Law .

Another option was Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, located in Maseru. Known for its focus on creative arts, design, and multimedia, it offers programs that are more aligned with artistic pursuits .

Then there was Lerotholi Polytechnic, also in Maseru, which specializes in technical and vocational education, offering programs in engineering, construction, and business studies [3] .As I reviewed the programs and course offerings, I realized that Limkokwing's emphasis on creative arts didn't align with my academic background. Lerotholi Polytechnic's focus on technical and vocational training was also outside my area of interest.

The National University of Lesotho, however, offered programs that matched my subjects and interests. Its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences provided courses that resonated with my academic strengths.

I decided to apply to NUL. The application process required careful preparation: gathering my academic transcripts, writing a personal statement, and completing the application forms. I sought guidance from teachers and mentors to ensure my application was strong.

As I submitted my application, I felt a sense of hope and anticipation. The journey ahead was uncertain, but I was ready to embrace it. Choosing NUL was not just about selecting a university; it was about taking a step toward my future, aligning my education with my passions and strengths.
