Happy new year

We entered the new year with excitement and high hopes that 2024 would bring us peace, success, and new beginnings. We believed everything would be okay and that our plans would finally work out.

On the 1st of January 2024, as the clock struck midnight, we welcomed the new year with joy and laughter. Firecrackers lit up the sky while we danced around the yard, full of energy and happiness. At home, we were enjoying delicious braai meat, music blasting, and the air filled with celebration. After the fireworks and food, we all stood in prayer, each person silently asking God for a good year ahead. We hugged and wished each other a Happy New Year with love and smiles.

We were so busy celebrating that we only went to bed around 04:30 in the morning but there was no time to rest! By 5:00 am, we were already awake, cleaning the yard, preparing pots, and cooking mouthwatering food for our New Year’s lunch.During the day, we helped our mom at her shop. I worked alongside my siblings, and the vibe was light and fun. While helping customers and organizing shelves, we took little breaks to enjoy some cold drinks. Of course, I couldn’t go a day without my favorite Fanta Pine!

The whole day was filled with joy, laughter, and hope. It was one of those moments where you feel grateful just to be surrounded by family, food, and love what a beautiful way to start the year.
