Dad bought us a house! It came as a surprise to all of us, i never thought that at one point we will own our own house, where we didn't pay rent, not in the ghetto side of the city

"You bought us a house!" Mom asked surprised and happy at the same time

"Yes i bought you a house and good news we will be moving there tomorrow" dad said and i just didn't believe all he was saying

"What about school dad" Talia asked innocently

"Don't worry sweetie, we going to enrol the both of you in the nearby school, it's a private school and performs well, so you will not be boarding because you too young to board and despite i want to see my daughters every day when i come home from work" dad said and i was already jumping up and down in ecstasy.

When dad vanished in our lives, he had actually gone into hiding, my dad was working in a quarry in the nearby town and he used to work there, like he said he studied finished campus but never got a job, mom was a nurse but she too couldn't get a decent job, so they ended up doing the manual jobs for our survival

So at his work place, dad managed to come across where gold was, he was actually the first person to know where it was located so, he kind off smuggled some gold and hid it before he went to talk to his supervisor, who advised him not to tell anyone, it was to be a secret between the two and because he was his Senior he was going to sell the gold and give him some cash which he never did. When their boss heard about the plan, he decided to ask dad who explained everything to him but he never believed him so he arrayed him for smuggling gold and making plans behind his back, his Senior also vanished never to be traced.

Dad spend some time in jail about two months and was released later because there was no enough evidence. When he was released, the boss kept close tabs on him to ensure he didn't take any gold, so dad never called mom to tell her about the good news, he used his step brother, Steve, to get all he wanted. He managed to sell the gold and gave uncle Steve some cash to supervise his work, He bought a piece of land and decided to build a home for us,about eight months later, the house was already done and well furnished

"Do you trust your brother, Steve? I doubt he did all that for you, just for free" mom sides dad while squinting he eyes at her questioningly

"Yeah i trust him, despite i cross checked everything and my lawyer said everything was okay"

"Well i hope so, but now that we are moving out tomorrow, what about our house holds? The debts i have at Robert's shop

"Well first thing tomorrow morning, we going to pack a few things we need but i doubt we will need anything because the house is already furnished, maybe just a few clothes, the households you can give them to your friends, do you have Robert's number?" Dad asked mom and she nodded

"Well give it to me I'll pay him via phone, how much do you owe him?" He asked

"Not much, just about Ksh1500"Mom said as she handed him her phone to copy Robert's phone number

Well to be sincere that was the best day of my life ever, life was changing drastically from grass to grace, just the other day, mom was torn in between paying our school fees, paying rent, and paying debts, we were actually living in debts but dad had just saved us all the drama and stress

The following mom woke us up early in the morning, dad said his driver was coming to take us, so dad bought a car, he said he was not able to find a fancy one but was hoping to buy one once we settled. I was actually looking forward to that, i mean for all the days of my life, we never had a personal car, just using the public vehicles as a means of transport

Dad had brought us some new clothes which we were to put on after showering as we waited for his car to come pick us. Mom called her friends, Sabina was among the few people who came to take the household items and the valuables. We only picked a few things we knew we needed and left the rest for mommy's friends

"Alright kids we should get going, you don't was us to be late do you?" Dad asked and we both jumped and shouted no because we were all eager to see our new house.

The drive to our new house was a long one, it was actually in the outskirts of town, a vast serene environment with well trimmed fences and beautiful flowers. All the time i kept stating outside the window enjoying the scene from the car window

Dad was seated with the driver in the front seat while. Mom, Talia and i took the backseat. Talia slept all the way here and I'm glad i was able to enjoy the view.

The river branched and toon another root which only led us to a series of beautiful mansions and bungalows, it was actually a place where only the right people lived, it was secluded and yet with a beautiful surrounding.

Just then he stopped at a black gate and stopped right in front of it, it took the watchman about two minutes before he finally opened the get

"Welcome boss" he said as he greeted dad from the window, well it was surprising to me how dad, a casual laborer, had turned to be called boss, i could call it blessings and God's work

"Thank you Osman, anything i should be worried about?" Dad asked as the driver parked the car just outside the house

"Nothing sir, everything is okay" he said and dad just nodded and walked to open the car door for us

"Sweethearts, here we are, welcome to your new him, honey, this is the house i was telling you about" dad said as he helped us out of the car.

In front of us stood a beautiful mansion, with a well maintained flower edges inside the tall wall with an electric fence, it had a parking lot just a few metres from the house, a resting place beside the parking lot, a swimming pool just across from where we were standing and a beautiful garden flower on the other end

"Wow! This place is beautiful" mom said and she awed at the beauty of the place

"You like?" Dad asked when while smiling

"Of course i love this place, thank you Ryan for thinking about us place is lovely" mom said and hugged dad who hugged her back and gave her a kiss on her forehead

"Danelya, do you like it here? And what about you princess?" Dad asked the both of us

"Yes dad this is a beautiful place, we will not have to watch other children go for swimming as we wish we were them, we going to swim from here!" I shouted as jumped up and down and hugged Talia who was happy as me.

"Yes honey, this is just the beginning of happiness, now welcome in, i have to how you around, don't want to go into the house?" Dad asked

"Of course not" mom answered on our behalf

Well we spent the rest of the half an hour walking around, dad showed us to our rooms, i had my own room while Talia had hers, a five bedroom house, our rooms were upstairs, a spacious kitchen, backyard, the house was just beautiful in out.

From rags to riches, my dad was now owning a business in town which he and mom were helping each other to run, we were admitted in the neighborhood school and that's how the problems in my life started. It's the story of my life.
