He stood there for a minute watching her go before noticing the pup just standing there. He threw his hand towards the woman while looking at the pup and said "go." The pup seemed glad to go with them. He turned and ran hard to catch up. It also seemed to want to be with him, but was having a little problem with loyalty.
He just mumbled to himself as he turned to go back, "I want you with them," as he started running back down the trail to the cabin.
Stopping at the cougars den, he thought about it for a second, grabbed the money, and took it with him.
Reaching the slab over the cabin he heard one of the men beating on the cabin door and hollering for them to come out. Stepping toward the edge he threw the money over and onto the lower slab just out from the door.
